WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO: Paige Spiranac, a social media sensation, appeared furious in her recent Twitter post, about double standards in sports as she blasted baseball players for dancing shirtless near the pitcher’s mound.
However, Spiranac found a significant difference between the reactions to this video and comments on her own social media posts. She emphasised the distinction between how males flaunting their bodies are celebrated while women are judged.
'Not one comment on this video'
Spiranac stated on Twitter that the players were not receiving negative feedback regarding their actions. She posted a video of two Savannah Bananas baseball players stripping down their shirts and dancing on the pitch while wearing cowboy hats. Such shenanigans would be unheard of on any other baseball team, but they are common for the Savannah Bananas, who are known for their outlandish behavior.
Spiranac shared the video of the bare-chested players dancing, and commented, "Interesting how different the reaction is online when men choose to show off their bodies. Not one comment on this video calling them attention w**res or s**ts. Just a ton of women saying baseball is now their favorite sport but those same women harshly judge me. The hypocrisy lol"
Her remark raised an important point concerning cultural views about male and female bodies and the standards that are applied to men and women in sports when it comes to how they dress, both on and off-field. Spiranac correctly points out that it is often women dragging her down by s**t-shaming her.
'Keep rocking girl'
Spiranac has frequently faced criticism for her provocative comments. Her influence and following, on the other hand, speak for themselves, making her a major voice in the online community.
Spiranac has sparked a debate regarding the disparities in treatment of men and women in athletics and the broader social environment by bringing this problem to light. Her statement has struck a chord with many people, sparking a bigger debate about equality and fair treatment for all athletes, regardless of gender.
A user reacted to Spiranac's tweet writing, "What ever…!! those women don’t matter Paige. Let the arrows pass though grasshopper for you are more glorious than ALL. Your Real & Spiranac that’s the difference. Keep…..Rocking …..Girl…..,,"
Another user added, 'Here at Game On! we don’t judge you one bit! Actually we praise how smart you are to capitalize off your imagine. Big fans.'
Many sports fans also said that whoever judges Spiranac is just jealous of her. One of them tweeted, "Those women that harshly judge you are nothing more than extremely jealous of the beautiful woman that you are. They only wish they could be half as beautiful as you are and it pisses them off when their husbands or boyfriends attention is on you. Ignore them."
