LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The entire cast and crew of 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny' is gearing up for a nail-biting, edge-of-the-seat thriller release that's expected to hook the action-adventure-loving audience to the seat. While the film is projected to be a box-office hit, hair stylists across the globe are also anticipated to do good business in the upcoming days, thanks to Phoebe Waller-Bridge's eclectic hairstyle that she sports in the film.
A role model to many women of all ages, the 37-year-old Golden Globe-winning star is passionate about her mane, as evident from her several interviews. Moreover, she included a segment about her choice of hairstyle on her TV show, 'Fleabag'. In the said episode, when the lead character's (played by Waller-Bridge) sister Claire gets a bad haircut, she takes it upon herself to tell the responsible hairdresser that "hair is everything."
In a heated speech, Waller-Bridge's character, Fleabag, elaborates, "We wish it wasn't so we could actually think about something else occasionally. But it is. It's the difference between a good day and a bad day. We're meant to think that it's a symbol of power, that it's a symbol of fertility. Some people are exploited for it and it pays your f**king bills. Hair is everything."
What is Phoebe Waller-Bridge's haircut called?
Always a short-hair aficionado, the 'Fleabag' creator, Waller-Bridge, reportedly likes to keep her hairstyles between a shag and a pixie cut, keeping it cropped enough to call it a pixie. However, based on outings, she often changes her hairstyle to make it appear more like a shag. Furthermore, the tousled brunette locks give her perfectly chopped pixie a glamorous appearance resembling a shag. The angled, side-swept bangs give her shag perfection, as per Allure. It not only frames her face perfectly to accentuate her features but also makes her stand out among a plethora of similar-looking hairstyles.
'It can ruin a day or make a day'
Like her real-life inspired character, Fleabag, Waller-Bridge has always maintained that hair is the most crucial component in a woman's appearance, so much so that she feels, "It can ruin a day or make a day." In an appearance on 'The Chris Evans Virgin Radio Breakfast Show with Sky' in 2019, the 'Killing Eve' star remarked, "I do think it preoccupies quite a lot of women's minds and lives."
When Chris Evans asked her about her hairdresser Armenio, Waller-Bridge candidly shared the heartwarming story of her relationship with her hairdresser, whom she met when she was at drama school. She said, "What a great question," before adding, "No one's ever asked me before, and I love talking about him. I met Armenio when I was at drama school and he was a friend of a friend. And he gave me a free haircut, which was massive because, you know, you're a student and you're doing it yourself. Hacking it to pieces yourself in your bathroom."
Waller-Bridge continued to narrate how she came to have her legendary short hair, saying, "I had long curly hair. He said, 'I'll give you a free haircut, but you need to have the short hair that you're supposed to have'. And he cut it all off." Waller-Bridge asserted that Aermenio was right as she said, "Just after I left drama school, he cut it all off and I started getting work. So he was right."
She has admitted that while she cannot have her hairdresser always by her side, but tries to stay faithful as much as possible. She became "unfaithful" once and paid the price for it. The 'Crashing' actress shared hilariously, "I did once [have someone else cut my hair]," before elaborating, "And it was a mistake. It was a terrible mistake. And I sent him pictures of it after saying, 'I'm sorry I got carried away'." While she "asked [Armenio's] permission" before styling her hair by someone else and "he was sort of like 'OK'," the actress soon realized her mistake. Accepting her mistake, Waller-Bridge said, "He gave me a one off and I learnt my lesson," as per Stylist.
