LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The View’ is a battleground of antics, harsh opinions, and controversies. The show is a continuous showdown between its hosts who at all times try to put their best foot forward in arguments or while discussing Hot Topics. At times Whoopi Goldberg goes off the radar with her anger and quirks but in the latest episode, it was the comedian Joy Behar who snapped back at her co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin.
The Hot Topics segment was on display as Joy, Alyssa, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, and guest co-host former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay, discussed the subject of housewives. After Alyssa made a bold assumption about Joy “working forever,” the 80-year-old comedian was quick to retort and dismiss such brooding speculation.
Is Joy Behar leaving ‘The View’?
The panelist on the show went on with the discussion of Housewives and initially discussed whether or not they'd be a housewife without being also a mother if given the chance. Everyone made valuable arguments on the topic and took the topic forward. Alyssa was extremely charged and aggressive with her opinions. She expressed that whatever role a woman decides to play in her relationship needs to be predicated on what brings her the most fulfillment. She said, “My thought is general fulfillment...I think I'll be like Joy, I wanna work forever. Working brings me fulfillment and happiness..”
But before Alyssa could complete her thoughts, Joy budged in and interrupted her. She was furious at Alyssa’s speculation and said, “What makes you think I wanna work forever?” signaling that the end for her may be near but not immediate on the show. She further remarked, "What are you nuts?” as she struck down all notions of “working forever” brought forth by Alyssa. But Alyssa later remarked that Joy was going "to work forever mark her words," to which the comedian responded, "No, no, no.”
Joy Behar has a history of shutting down co-hosts
Joy has a history of shutting down her co-host whenever they seem to cross the line. A while ago, Joy yelled at co-host Sara Haines to shut up when she revealed that he had a platonic relationship with the show's executive producer. In the particular episode, the panelist discussed the topic of platonic relationships and Joy mentioned that she had a “platonic relationship” with executive producer Brian Teta. Sara immediately jumped up and quirked, "I do too!” Joy looked at her and snapped, "Shut up!" before grinning and adding, “He's mine!" she exclaimed before leaning forward at Sara, making her laugh.
