Taylor Swift surprises fans by bringing ex Taylor Lautner onstage
With the new release of Speak Now (Taylor's Version), Taylor Swift surprised fans by bringing out her ex Taylor Lautner, Joey King and Presley Cash onstage during her latest Eras tour show in Kansas City. This wasn't a random guest appearance on Friday night (7 July) as all three also feature in Swift's new music video for her 'From The Vault' track 'I Can See You' which premiered at the concert. In the video, both Lautner and King are burglars, and with help from Cash, they break into a museum filled with dresses and props from Swift's career over the years, where they also show off their fighting skills as security tries to stop them. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The pair eventually make it to the vault, where they break free Swift (dressed in her Speak Now era look), who had been trapped inside, and she takes with her the framed picture of the cover art for her new version of her third studio album. The three of them bolt out of the museum as explosions set off but make it to the van as Cash drives them away from the scene. As Swift loves giving fans Easter eggs, fans have noted how the three actors have previous connections to Swift's Speak Now era. The two Taylors famously dated back in 2009 for a few months after they starred together in the romantic comedy Valentine's Day, where they played a couple. It is widely speculated that the breakup song 'Back to December' from the album is about Lautner, with the theme of the song about apologising and asking for forgiveness from an ex for breaking their heart. Meanwhile, King and Cash both appeared in Swift's music video for the track 'Mean'. Swift explained in an Instagram post that the music video she wrote and directed was about wanting to "play out symbolically how it’s felt for me to have the fans helping me reclaim my music." Speak Now (Taylor's Version) marks the third re-recorded album from Swift's discography after previously releasing Fearless (Taylor's Version) in April 2021 and Red (Taylor's Version) later on in November of the same year. On stage at Kansas City, Swift and Lautner shared a hug as the audience roared in excitement at the surprise. The Anti-Hero singer then praised the Twilight actor for the impact he had on her life at the time she originally made the album as well as his fighting skills in the music video. @elysemyers This is a fever dream “He was a very positive force in my life when I was making the Speak Now album, and I want to say he did every single stunt that you saw in that music video. "He and his wife have become some of my closest friends, and it’s very convenient because we all share the same first name," Swift joked. In return, Lautner was also complimentary of Swift as the two are clearly friendly exes. “I respect you so much. Not just for the singer you are, the songwriter, the performer — but truly for the human you are. You are gracious, humble, kind and I’m honoured to know you," Lautner said. Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was released on July 7. Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.

Snoop Dogg reveals the one person who can out-smoke him in resurfaced clip
Snoop Dogg recently announced his decision to quit smoking and since then a clip has resurfaced where the rapper revealed the 'only person' who can out-smoke him. The 52-year-old - whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr - took to Instagram yesterday (November 16) to share the news with fans. "After much consideration and conversation with my family, I've decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time," he wrote. The announcement surprised fans, given Snoop's well-documented love for weed and the responses ranged from wishing him well to questioning whether it was some kind of publicity stunt. Meanwhile, a clip from 2018 when Snoop appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been making rounds, where he revealed the only person - a musician - that could out-smoke him. The conversation began with Kimmel asking Snoop who he would put on a ‘Mount Rushmore' of pot smokers. "Seth Rogen was here last week, and we were talking about Mount Rushmore of pot smokers, and of course, you are on. "And I think that Seth is on Mt. Rushmore. Who would you put on that Mt. Rushmore?" Kimmel put to the Drop It Like It's Hot rapper. Snoop pondered for a moment before he gave his answer: "I would put Bob Marley." “I would put Cheech and Chong - they were the first faces on the mountain, they're the ones who showed us what a mountain was." "Willie P. Nelson is definitely on there," he added. "And by the way, Willie Nelson is the only person who has ever out smoked Snoop Dogg. I had to hit the 'time out' button." When questioned by Kimmel as to whether he's had to hit the 'time out' button before, Snoop insisted: “Never, never.” Nelson has also recalled the time he spent with Snoop, as he told the Daily Beast in 2021 how they connected when they were both in The Netherlands. “That was over in Amsterdam!" the country musician said, a city where smoking marijuana in coffee shops is accepted. “I called Snoop and I said, 'Hey buddy, you gotta come over here. This is where it’s at!' "So, he came over and we hit every bar, every smoke place in Amsterdam. We had a helluva time." Shaggy says fans have misunderstood ‘It Wasn’t Me’ for years
It turns out we've got Shaggy's 'It Wasn't Me' all wrong, according to the man himself. The 2000 hit song, which features vocals from RikRok, follows the plot of a cheating man confiding in Shaggy and asking him for advice. The singer has since revealed that fans completely misunderstood the track, leading him to have a reputation as a "player". "It was a big misconception with that song because that song is not a cheating song," he told People. "It’s an anti-cheating song. It’s just that nobody listened to the record to the end." The Jamaica-born singer continued: "There’s a part in the record where it’s a conversation between two people and you have one guy, which is me at that point, giving that bad advice, like, ‘Yo, bro, how could you get caught? Just tell her, ‘It wasn’t me', and then at the end, the guy says, 'I’m going to tell her that I’m sorry for the pain that I’ve caused.' "'I’ve been listening to your reasoning, it makes no sense at all. Going to tell her that I’m sorry for the pain that I’ve caused. You might think that you’re a player, but you’re completely lost'." Shaggy concluded: "Nobody hears that part! That’s what the song says." "These are all people I personally have worked with before and know. Sean and me — that's my island boy. I've known him for years," he told the publication. "It is really great to be on the bill with these wonderful ladies. I did Europe with En Vogue, I think on two occasions. Shaggy continued: "As far as TLC is concerned, I've done like eight shows last year in America with them, and there was a massive turnout. I think Live Nation liked the idea of us and them together."
