LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lil Tay, the young internet star who became infamous for her foul-mouthed videos, may be back on social media soon.
Her mother Angela Tian has won a major legal battle with her father Christopher Hope over Tay’s custody and career.
Is Lil Tay making a comeback?
TMZ reported that a court order has given Angela sole authority to decide where Tay lives and what she does online.
Hope has been ordered to pay about $275,000 in back child support and continue to pay monthly support for Tay who is 14 years old.
This win is "huge" for Angela as in 2018, Hope got a court order that forced Tay to leave Los Angeles where she had been making viral videos with luxury cars and designer clothes, and stop creating online content.
He wanted Tay to pursue more traditional paths like singing and acting, the publication noted.
Lil Tay and Angela had been suffering from constant depression
Angela said this was a nightmare for her and Tay who have been suffering from "constant and severe depression" due to the custody dispute.
She said Hope had a “disgusting financial motivation” and had taken away Tay’s rights and freedom.
She said she had been financially ruined by the legal fight, but now they could finally move on.
"I have been financially ruined fighting for my daughter’s rights and freedom which should have never been taken away to begin with.
"We have won our case in court and my children and I can finally move on from this nightmare. My daughter can pursue and achieve her dreams on her own terms, and we are finally a happy family again, together."
Lil Tay's shocking death hoax
Last week, a shocking post on Lil Tay’s Instagram account announced that she and her brother had died.
"It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire's sudden and tragic passing. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain," the unsigned statement began," it added.
"This outcome was entirely unexpected and has left us all in shock. Her brother's passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief, the statement further wrote.
"During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother's passing are still under investigation," the statement revealed.
"Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her."
However, TMZ reported that the post was false and that Tay’s account had been hacked by a third party. Meta said that they had helped Tay regain control of her account.
