Presently, Tate finds himself under house arrest, alongside his brother Tristan. The two brothers face serious charges including human trafficking, rape, and involvement in organized crime. Their indictment has brought widespread attention and scrutiny to their alleged criminal activities.

In a recent Twitter post, Tate expressed his disdain for the widely popularized Black Lives Matter slogan that gained significant momentum in 2020. Furthermore, in response to the criticisms surrounding the use of racial slurs during his sparring sessions with his Eastern European coach, Tate offered a controversial perspective. He suggested that individuals who take offense to such language should take a proactive approach and directly confront their coach, opting to throw punches rather than allowing themselves to be verbally taunted and physically struck.
