LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Oasis legend Noel Gallagher, known for his outspoken nature, has once again expressed his strong opinions, this time targeting legendary Adele. During an appearance on the Matt Morgan podcast, the singer, aged 56, did not hold back, likening Adele's voice to that of the late music legend Cilla Black and criticizing her work as ''f*****g awful" and "offensive."
When asked about his thoughts on hitmaker Adele's music, Noel vehemently dismissed it, stating, "F***k off, f***ing hell. Name one?" They're f***ing s**t. It's f***ing awful. It's f***ing Cilla Black. I find it and that whole thing offensive."
Meanwhile, Adele, 35, is currently engaged in a successful Las Vegas residency, marking her triumphant return to music with a record-breaking album in 2021.
Who was Cilla Black?
Cilla, whose real name was Priscilla Maria Veronica White, was a British singer, television presenter, and actress. She was born on May 27, 1943, in Liverpool, England, and passed away on August 1, 2015. Cilla rose to fame in the 1960s as a popular singer with several hit singles, including 'Anyone Who Had a Heart,' 'You're My World,' and 'Alfie.'
She was signed to the Beatles' manager, Brian Epstein, and had a close friendship with members of the band, particularly John Lennon and Paul McCartney. In addition to her successful music career, Cilla became a well-known television personality in the UK. She hosted her own variety show, 'Cilla,' and later, 'Blind Date,' a popular dating game show that ran for many years. Cilla's contributions to the music and television industries earned her numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. She died on August 1, 2015.
Furthermore, while criticizing Adele's music, Noel humorously suggested that the only way it could be improved was if she sang a song he wrote. "If I fall out of love with touring, I could see myself just sitting at home writing songs and sending them to my publishers. I might in the future." He added, "I'll be saying, ''Get Adele to sing that. Don't call until she's done the guide vocal.' I want Lewis Capaldi to murder this song, I want him to sit on it from a great height. Make me rich."
