DETROIT, MICHIGAN: Alaina Marie Scott, the daughter of renowned rapper Eminem, has reason to celebrate as she recently got married. The 30-year-old exchanged vows with Matt Moeller in a beautiful ceremony where her sister Hailie Jade served as the maid of honor.
Scott took to Instagram to share the joyous occasion with her followers, expressing that her wedding day on June 9 was undeniably one of the best days of her life. Alaina and Matt have been together for an impressive seven years, documenting their love story on Instagram since Alaina opened her account in 2014. In July 2021, she took to social media once again, joyously celebrating their seventh anniversary.
Expressing her affection in an adorable Instagram post, Alaina referred to Matt as her favorite person and best friend. She affectionately hailed him as the "best fur dad and the best partner."
Who is Matt Moeller?
Growing up just outside the small Southeast Texas town of Cuero, Matt Moeller was surrounded by his large, lively, and loving family, perfectly attuned to the farming and ranching community. They maintained a respectable cattle herd while holding steady day jobs.
Matt absorbed gardening, canning, and cooking skills from his parents, grandparents, and anyone willing to share their wisdom. In his upbringing, hard work was the norm, and rewards came in the form of nourishment on a plate. Life was simple and devoid of luxury, but they never lacked anything.
At the age of 13, Matt acquired his first guitar through a trade involving a rod and reel. This marked the beginning of his journey into songwriting, a passion he discovered at 17 and continued to nurture by building an extensive collection of songs. After venturing away from home, working various jobs, and performing intimate acoustic shows across central Texas for over a decade, Matt eventually found his way back to Cuero.
Encouraged by his family and friends, he decided to wholeheartedly pursue his musical aspirations, leading him to search for a band. Answering his call were drummer Marcus Benavidez, guitarist Jason Harvey, and sound engineer John Edwards, forming The Night SIghts.
Father-daughter relationship
Eminem, also known as Marshall Mathers, officially adopted Scott in the early 2000s after her mother Dawn struggled with drug addiction. Dawn, who was the sister of Eminem's ex-wife Kim, tragically passed away in 2016 due to a suspected overdose. Alongside Alaina, Eminem and Kim also share a daughter named Hailie Jade, who is 27 years old. Eminem's loving and supportive role extends further as he is also the adoptive father of Stevie Laine Mathers, who is now 21 years old.
Matt Moeller and The Night Sights hope to unveil their identity one song at a time, using their lyrics, melodies, and sound to create a body of work that provides listeners with the trusted escape offered by Country Music.
In a candid interview with People magazine in 2020, Eminem openly expressed the deep bond he shares with Alaina, affectionately calling her Lainey. He described her as being "like a daughter" to him, highlighting the special connection they have.
Eminem's heartfelt sentiments towards Alaina can also be seen in his 2004 song 'Mockingbird'. In the lyrics, he raps about their relationship, stating, "Lainey, uncle's crazy ain't he? / Yeah, but he loves you, girl, and you better know it / We're all we got in this world." These words serve as a testament to the love and devotion Eminem has for Alaina, emphasizing the importance of their bond as family in a challenging world.
