NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: TJ Holmes, the host of 'GMA3', has encountered a six-month delay in his divorce proceedings with ex-wife Marilee Fiebig since filing the initial papers. The divorce gained attention due to revelations of Holmes' affair with his 'GMA' co-host Amy Robach, which came to light through a series of 65 photos showing them together on multiple dates despite both being legally married at the time.
After being married for 13 years and having a daughter named Sabine, Holmes and Fiebig decided to call off their marriage and pursue a divorce. Many speculations arose regarding an alleged affair between Holmes and Robach, which were eventually confirmed to be true. Holmes and Robach began anchoring together in 2020 and their illicit affair recently made headlines. Due to their secretive actions, they were both fired by ABC and no longer serve as hosts on 'Good Morning America'. Additionally, they faced accusations of cheating on their respective partners before Holmes filed for divorce in January 2023. However, it is revealed that the divorce has not moved forward as the case is yet to be assigned to a judge after six months of filing the papers.
Who is Marilee Fiebig?
Born on October 27, 1977, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Fiebig is an attorney who graduated from the University of Michigan and went to Vanderbilt Law School to pursue a legal career. She has formerly served as Wilhelmina’s general attorney and vice president of operations. Fiebig married Holmes in March 2010, however, their marriage ended after 13 years of being together.
Inside TJ Holmes and Marilee Fiebig's divorce
According to the docket and court calendars of the New York Supreme Court case, Holmes' divorce filing is currently in the request for judicial intervention phase and has not been scheduled before a matrimonial judge. Also, no comments were received from the attorneys representing Holmes or Fiebig, as per The Sun.
Holmes, 45, filed for divorce from his ex-wife of 13 years on December 28, 2022, in New York following reports of his alleged affair with Robach. Holmes hired the services of attorney Robert H Moses from Moses Ziegelman Richards & Notaro, LLP. In December 2022, Moses was recognized as NYC's Lawyer of the Year in the Family Law category by Best Lawyers: The Family Law Issue 2023. As per Moses's attorney profile, “His clients range from celebrities and high-net-worth individuals in financial, publishing, sports, and other fields to those of more modest means."
On the other hand, Fiebig hired Fara Rodriguez in January, who recently became a partner at Philips Nizer LLP in Manhattan. This came shortly after her primary attorney Stephanie F Lehman, who is also a partner at the firm, demanded that Holmes file the official divorce complaint.
While Holmes’ divorce proceedings appear to have stalled, Robach and her estranged husband Andrew Shue have not yet filed divorce papers.
Amy Robach’s split with Andrew Shue
According to The Daily Mail's report in March, Robach and Shue had resolved their divorce through mediation after allegations of Amy's alleged months-long affair with Holmes surfaced. A close friend of the former couple shared with the publication, “It's an awfully sad end to what was a great marriage. Andrew was so into her. But at least they worked out their split through mediation rather than some ugly legal battle. And they sorted out the custody of Brody [their dog].” Amy and Andrew were married for 12 years and didn't have any children together.
