LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nothing compares to the sensation of finding a groove and sticking with it. The only thing that might improve these moments is to share them with someone you care about. Phil Wright gives his dance students this opportunity.
Phil is the executive producer and choreographer of 'Disney Fam Jam', the Disney Channel's family dance competition show based on his viral success 'The Parent Jam'. He is now taking his family and children's dancing ensemble to 'America's Got Talent' Season 18 auditions.
Who are The Parent Jam?
Phil, a well-known dancer and choreographer, is the show's executive producer and choreographer. Phil relocated from his homeland of Miami to Los Angeles in 2013 to explore new opportunities in the dance industry, as well as to develop his choreographic and producing career. Furthermore, Phil has choreographed music videos and stage performances for chart-topping recording artists such as Lil Nas X, Will Smith, MC Hammer, Cardi B, TLC, and G-Eazy ft Drake, among others. Phil launched The Parent Jam in 2017 after being motivated to bring together children and their families through dancing.
The Parent Jam dancing lessons, which have become a viral success broadcast online, are aimed at inspiring positivism within families. Classes have been held in cities such as New York City, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Washington, DC, and Vancouver. Phil has been dancing since the age of nine and has been taught a variety of forms such as hip-hop, modern, and African dance. Phil and his wife presently live in Los Angeles, where they are expecting a baby girl.
Phil is currently a dancing instructor at Millennium Dancing Complex in Los Angeles, California. He introduced a feature called The Parent Jam, in which children dance with their parents or loved ones. Anyone, regardless of experience or age, is welcome to attend these workshops.
Students get groovy to the famous hit 'It Takes Two' by Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock in one of their submitted videos. Since its debut in 1988, the song has been recorded by several musicians and featured in a number of television and film projects.
For some, entering a dance school led by a well-known professional choreographer might be rather scary, since you will require a basic sense of rhythm and the ability to bust out some moves. For choreographer Phil, though, it's all about having fun and being able to teach everyone, regardless of expertise or age. For years, the skilled dancer has been fairly popular on internet channels, since his inclusive "jam sessions," as he likes to call them, have a tendency to go viral, and for good reason.
If you can't find him in his Los Angeles dance studio, he's probably traveling across the world to promote his love of dance. His primary goal is to excite and inspire others, while also bringing people together through his dance sessions. The choreographer, who also teaches the workshops, wishes to be as inclusive as possible and will teach anyone who wishes to participate.
