AUSTIN, TEXAS: UFC commentator, Joe Rogan is back with his 'The Joe Rogan Experience' podcast! On Friday, August 5 episode titled 'Fight Companion', Rogan invited Eddie Bravo, Bryan Callen, and Brendan Schaub.
Rogan's producer, Jamie Vernon, interrupted the podcast mid-way to inform the guests about Tim Anderson's fight against Jose Ramirez during the White Sox-Guardians game.
'He looked like he had good hands first'
The podcasters and their listeners reacted in unison to their first glimpse of Anderson fighting Ramirez, as the two engaged in boxing positions suitable for assessment by fighting specialists.
"Oh, s*** Oh!" Schaub and Bravo yelled in unison while watching the clip. "Dude he got dropped!" Bravo said. Schaub further added, "And that's the best player on the White Sox."
Rogan, 55, jumped into the discussion after being confused by the initial viewing. "He got off a couple of punches first, too. He looked like he had good hands first," Rogan said of Anderson.
Rogan added, "Well, the first guy, the guy who came forward, this guy with the Southpaw, he looks like he knows what he's doing. He flung that right hand. Winged it. Bang!" Rogan was referring to Ramrez's right hand, which knocked Anderson down.
What happened between Anderson and Ramirez?
A fight erupted between Anderson and Ramirez following a tag play at second base in the sixth inning.
The two players squared up and threw punches at each other, with Ramírez landing a swing on Anderson's face that knocked him down. Anderson was wobbly when he got back up as he walked back to the dugout.
Both players were immediately ejected, as were Guardians manager Terry Francona, third base coach Mike Sarbaugh and closer Emmanuel Clase, along with White Sox manager Pedro Grifol. The latter four received one-game suspensions.
White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech and Guardians outfielder Gabriel Arias also received undisclosed fines.
