In Episode 4, Danny travels to London to see his biological father, and the series of events lead to a revelation of yet another shocking plot, this time with Rya’s presence.
In the third episode of ‘The Crowded Room’, viewers started to get intrigued with all the suspense circling each episode, especially after Danny’s revelation. However, the next episode is more thrilling and portrays Danny’s character as rigid, fearless, and multifaceted. After the incident, Yitzhak tells Danny to find his father and he travels to London to see him. However, he meets a mysterious man named, Jack, who guided him like a father figure only to trap him in one of his secret missions. Until now, we realized that Rya is on Danny’s side, but it seems there’s an entirely different backstory to the forefront storyline which isn’t expected to be seen until the finale of the season. Let’s dig in to find out more about Episode 4 of ‘The Crowded Room’.
Who is Jack?
After Danny arrives in London, he tries to contact his biological father, Peter (Pete) Sullivan, who he believed worked as a travel agent at Royal London Travel Agency. He arrives at the office, however, to his dismay he meets a stranger man who turned out to be very friendly, helpful, and a friend of his father. He takes Danny for a drink and they talked about his father, what happened to him, and why Danny is looking for him. Jack is portrayed as a ‘father figure’ for Danny and he fell into his trap because of his charm and strong vocals. Also, Danny needed someone after the incident and Jack was right there to carry him lovingly to his next muddle. Surprisingly, Jack knew Yitzhak and told Danny they both worked together including his father, Pete. In the entire episode, Jack’s real identity was not revealed until towards the end. He was believed to be Pete’s friend, however, later turned out to be one of Rya’s agents who are working together in some secret plot against or in favor (not yet known) of Danny.
What happened with Danny in London?
When Danny arrived in London, he was struggling to get a hold of Pete. Instead of Pete, he met Jack assumed to be Pete’s friend. Danny and Jack went for a drink where they talked about a lot of things which added a shocking addition to the storyline. Jack told Danny that his father is not in London and he hasn’t spoken to him in years. He also disclosed some business that went awry due to which they cut off their ties. When Jack asked Danny why he’s visiting his father, he told him about Yitzhak and that he’s in trouble. Suddenly, Jack yells his name and says “he kept his promise”. Meanwhile, Rya questioned Danny when he told her that Pete envisioned the American dream which he told Yitzhak and the latter promised him to take care of Danny if and when he arrives in America before Pete. However, Rya wasn’t able to gulp the strange coincidences. Back in London, Jack impressed Danny by sharing Pete’s stories and telling him that he can help him in any way. Also, he offers him a place to stay and stood up for him when a customer calls Danny a “w****r”. Later at night, Jack and Danny walk back from the bar and on their way, they encounter Reggie, a ruthless family man. A while after, Jack talked with Yitzhak in a phone booth, a shocking revelation which oddly meant that Yitzhak and Jack were in contact all along from the beginning.
The next day, Jack and Danny went on a walk to embrace London’s beauty where the former questioned him about some mysterious theories. It was just to attract Danny’s attention and make him convince to do something which Danny would never approve of easily. He twisted his way through Danny’s mind and to his luck, Danny got spiraled in his tactics. During their coffee run, he talked about Reggie, who is a businessman and owed a lot of money to Pete. He went on to explain how his father couldn’t collect the money due to problems with authorities. However, being his son, he can ask Reggie for the money as he is a family man and would honor family values. Jack molded Danny’s mind into going against Reggie alone and demanding Pete’s money. Unfortunately, Danny’s bold move didn’t go well which he realized after Jack was nowhere to be found. Danny came back to his room and suddenly Jack shows up, telling him that it was all a test for self-reflection. He again manipulates him to go back to his home in New York City and face his fears with courage.
Rya and Jack's secret mission
Danny returns to New York City and visits the ‘ghost house’, however, couldn’t find Yitzhak or Ariana. He stayed back in the house, considering it was the only place he could stay. When Danny burned his passport and art book in the fireplace, police turned in and Danny surrendered willingly as shown in episode one. In the present timeline, Rya questions Danny about Yitzhak and Ariana’s mysterious disappearance. Danny backlashed at Rya considering she indirectly pointed out it was Danny who killed them both for conning him. However, Danny’s multifaceted yet believable response seemingly felt true, especially when he doubts the whole façade was not for the money, but for something much bigger. Rya, ignoring all that Danny said asks him to talk about Adam. However, Danny stands up and leaves the room yelling “I’m done”.
Days after their last meeting, Rya goes back to her office where she meets Jack sitting at Danny’s usual place, a shocking surprise. It turned out both are working together and there’s a larger truth behind the story which hopefully will be unveiled in the next episode.
