LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The rumors are true:Matt James' mother, Patty, is one of the 22 elderly women on 'The Golden Bachelor'. Years after Matt appeared on 'The Bachelor,' his mother is attempting to find romance on television.
Bachelor 25th Season Matt has been avoiding inquiries about whether his 70-year-old mother, a retired real estate agent from Durham, North Carolina, will be one of the ladies courting Gerry Turner on ABC's senior citizen spin-off of 'The Bachelor' for weeks. We can confirm Patty's presence now that ABC has released the whole 'The Golden Bachelor' cast.
Patty was first introduced to viewers in 2021, when Matt sat down with her on the opening episode of his Bachelor season. "My mom raised us in a Christian household," Matt, whose parents divorced when he was a kid, recalled.
But now that Matt and his younger brother, John, have reached adulthood, it is Patty's time. "I'm looking for someone that cares about family like I do," she says in the new 'Golden Bachelor' commercial. Perhaps that someone will be Gerry, the 72-year-old Golden star described by ABC as a "doting father and grandfather" to daughters Angie and Jenny, as well as grandchildren Charlee and Payton.
