'Unlicensed' practitioner who injected Kim Kardashian lookalike faces charges
Kim Kardashian lookalike, Christina Ashten Gourkani, sadly died last month a day after receiving a cosmetic procedure. Now, the alleged "unlicensed" practitioner could face charges. The 34-year-old OnlyFans model suffered a cardiac arrest on April 20. According to San Mateo County District, it came a day after she was believed to have received "several injections" of silicone in her buttocks. The practitioner allegedly did not have a licence to practice medicine. According to The Daily Post, the woman was arrested at Fort Lauderdale Airport and will allegedly be extradited to Redwood City. The outlet claims the practitioner will be charged with involuntary manslaughter and practising medicine without a license resulting in great bodily injury. Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Last month, Gourkani's family set up a GoFundMe page for the model to raise funds for the funeral. "After arriving at the hospital shortly after the phone call our family continued living a nightmare as we were informed that her health and wellbeing had continued to decline in a downward spiral for the worse after suffering from a cardiac arrest," the post read. It continued: "Her sudden and tragic passing is currently being investigated as a homicide related to a medical procedure that took a turn for the worse. For the privacy of Christina Ashten, our family and the investigation no other details will be shared at this time." Since the news of her death, people flooded Gourkani's Instagram posts with heartbroken comments. "RIP My Angel. I still can't believe it. I have no words. We will always miss you," one person wrote while another added: "OMG NO WAYYYYY YOU WERE SUCH A SWEAT SOUL.. IM LOST FOR WORDS RIGHT NOW." A third penned: "My sweet angel baby!!!!!! RIP. Dixie D’Amelio responds to shocking 'mass shooting' comment about her transparent top
Dixie D’Amelio responds to shocking 'mass shooting' comment about her transparent top
TikToker and singer Dixie D’Amelio received horrendous backlash and is branded a “bad example” for children after wearing a transparent top. D’Amelio is a major star on the social media platform with over 57 million followers and is the older sister of fellow TikTok star Charli D’Amelio. Since breaking up with fellow influencer Noah Beck, the older sister has been through some changes including cutting her previously long hair and replacing it with a buzzcut. But, it was another risky fashion statement that sparked controversy across social media after D’Amelio wore a transparent top that showed her breasts. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The star was seen in both a TikTok video and an Instagram post wearing the same shirt, igniting comments from critics who claimed she was being a bad role model to her young female followers. D’Amelio captioned the Instagram post, “Darling don’t feel bad for me” and posed in the top along with ripped jeans, dark sunglasses and a black handbag. One comment on the post read: “You know children see this.” Another said: “So unclassy. Hope young girls don’t get ‘influenced’ by this.” In possibly one of the most sickening responses, one Instagram user said they hoped she would be a victim of a mass shooting. The TeaTok Talk account shared screenshots of some of the horrible responses D’Amelio received and some which she replied to. An Instagram user wrote, “Bro your [sic] a bad example”, to which D’Amelio hit back: “I have said from the beginning that I am not a role model. I do me and want to be myself.” Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.

Meghan Markle's latest career move has people thinking she's joined WWE
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has got people doing a double take with her latest career move, with many mistakenly thinking she has joined WWE. In a report from Variety, Meghan has signed up for representation with the Hollywood talent agency WME, in what will be seen as a lucrative acquisition for the company, which already boasts clients such as Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and tennis great Serena Williams. Meghan's team at WME will include Endeavor CEO Ari Emmanuel as well as top agents Jill Smoller and Brad Slater. While she does have experience as an actor a return to that field is not thought to be on the agenda. Film and television and brand partnerships are more likely to be explored. Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter While this is obviously intriguing news from a Meghan and Harry perspective, the news has sideswiped a few people who have mistakenly read WME as 'WWE' aka World Wrestling Entertainment leading to some very puzzled reactions. Just for the record, Meghan Markle has not signed with WWE although we do think she'd have great promo skills and would love to see her work a program with Dominik Mysterio. You never know, maybe her new colleague The Rock could give her some tips. Have your say in our news democracy. MrBeast buys entire street of houses for his staff to live in
YouTuber and philanthropist MrBeast has been quietly buying up properties in a neighbourhood in Greenville, North Carolina for his employees. MrBeast, who real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has built a huge online following beginning his career by sharing gaming content. Now the 25-year-old has 151 million subscribers and regularly shares content of him using and sharing his massive wealth of $54 million to help others, including spending $3 million for 1,000 people in the deaf community to get hearing aids. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter According to the New York Post, MrBeast’s employees are just some of the people who will benefit as the publication reports the YouTuber purchased “five modest and separate homes in the area he grew up in”, concentrated in one cul-de-sac. MrBeast purchased the first house on the street in 2018 for around $320,000. Despite his wealth, it appears the YouTuber has shunned the luxury Hollywood lifestyle he could easily afford, living a more modest lifestyle in his North Carolina home. According to the New York Post, there is just one house on the street that MrBeast doesn’t own, with neighbours potentially attributing it to the fact that the resident’s children have not yet finished school. Aaron Bowden, who sold his house to MrBeast last year, explained: “My understanding is the folks who are holding out is similar to any reason why anyone would have held out — its the best school districts in the area, and they have kids in school.” He continued: “I wouldn’t know anything for a fact because I don’t walk in their shoes, but they may change their minds when their kids are out of high school and off to college.” Bowden had lived in his home since 2016 and said he negotiated with the YouTuber, explaining: “We negotiated back and forth and it had to be worth my while. And he wasn’t gonna buy it if it wasn’t worth his while.” MrBeast’s former neighbour also explained that he had made it known it was his intention to move his family and employees into the homes he was purchasing. 'Awkward' Katy Perry lyric during coronation concert raises eyebrows
'Awkward' Katy Perry lyric during coronation concert raises eyebrows
The new King's coronation celebrations continued on Sunday with a huge concert at Windsor Castle featuring the likes of Lionel Richie, Olly Murs, Tom Cruise, Take That and Katy Perry. The American songstress, who just the day before had managed to get lost in Westminister Abbey at the actual coronation, wore an amazing gold gown while she belted out two of her classic hits 'Roar' and 'Firework' to the thousands in attendance including the King and Queen. Sign up to our new free Indy100 weekly newsletter While viewers enjoyed Perry's performance there was one moment in her short set which did raise some eyebrows. In 'Firework' Perry sings the line: "You just gotta ignite the light. And let it shine. Just own the night. Like the Fourth of July." For those that need a brief recap of history, the United States celebrates independence day on 4th July, which marks the date that America gained freedom from the British in 1776. One person wrote: "Katy Perry reminding to 'own the night like the 4th of July' ... Um, is that awkward." Another added: "Katy Perry singing about 4th July to the British King is surely an arrestable offence." A third said: "I find it hilarious that Katy Perry sang about "the Fourth of July" at a concert celebrating the coronation of King Charles III." A fourth person joked: "Katy Perry performing Firework and singing “own the night like the Fourth of July” at the coronation of the King of England is lowkey savage." Meanwhile, others joked that Perry had turned up dressed as a toffee penny from a box of Quality Street. Getting lost, referencing the American revolution and looking like a sweet; Katy Perry really did steal the show during the coronation weekend. Have your say in our news democracy. Hasbulla arrested in Russia for 'unbridled wedding fun'
Hasbulla arrested in Russia for 'unbridled wedding fun'
Social media personality Hasbulla Magomedov has been arrested in Russia for driving offences committed after a wedding celebration. 20-year-old Hasbulla is from Russia and was arrested in his native Dagestan, a Republic of Russia, in an incident involving a group of his friends celebrating a wedding. According to reports, Hasbulla and friends blocked a main road in order to do doughnuts. Since his arrest, Hasbulla apologised for the incident on social media and confirmed it wasn’t him driving. He tweeted: “That won't happen again, people we apologise. We had to answer for it a little bit. I wasn't driving either.” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter According to Dagestan’s Internal Affairs Ministry, the act of blocking a road to burn rubber is a common form of celebration after a wedding and added that wedding emotions got the better of those arrested. The statement read: “Unbridled wedding fun in Dagestan is known to many and far beyond the borders of the republic.” It continued: “In the absence of other ways of entertainment, such a primitive option is still extremely popular - blocking roads for other road users, burning rubber, smashing cars against each other and many other features that, in fact, have nothing to do with the celebration.” Footage of the incident was shared online and showed the social media star in a car blocking the road, while another vehicle from his party did donuts in the road in front. The statement from Dagestan’s Internal Affairs Ministry continued, explaining: “All participants of 'wedding emotions', as they themselves call it, were taken to the police, and in relation to them, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan drew up administrative protocols for all violations.” It’s not the first time in recent months that Hasbulla’s actions have caused a stir. A few months ago the star came under fire after a clip appeared to show him abusing a cat. Have your say in our news democracy. Rapper Kevin Gates shocks fans with graphic Instagram story
Rapper Kevin Gates shocks fans with graphic Instagram story
Rapper Kevin Gates has shocked the internet after posting an extremely graphic childbirth video on his Instagram Stories. On Sunday, May 8th, the 37-year-old '2 Phones' singer shared a video of a seemingly random woman giving birth from a standing position. Gates captioned the video with: "The most beautiful thing on earth is the gift of life [folded hands emoji] [heart hands emoji]." Fans of the star immediately thought that it was Gates's wife Dreka Haynes, who he has two children with, in the video except it wasn't. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter According to Pink Villa, the video was shared in April and features a woman named Kendra who was giving birth. The caption for the video states: "In celebration of black maternal health week, Kendra is sharing her birth video and she offers this wisdom from this amazing birth experience." However, despite it not being Gates's other half people were still shocked to see such graphic content on Instagram and urged others not to go and look at it, which they naturally did. Twitch star Kai Cenat also looked at the story while on a live stream, as did rapper Kendrick Lamar who liked a meme about the poster on Twitter. Back in 2013, Gates expressed how much he loves his own children but was keen to shield them from the public. He told Complex: "I lay in the bed with them [my children], hold them, love on them. It really doesn't make sense to say [how many kids I have]. Not in a bad way, but it’s not like the public will ever get to see my children, and if they do see them, they aren't going to know they’re mine. Later on, maybe, I get to the point where I share it with the world." Have your say in our news democracy.
