John Cena impersonates Liverpool fan in lesson on British culture
John Cena attempted his best impression of a Liverpudlian accent as he learned about some iconic British pop culture moments. The 46-year-old wrester and actor was educated during a BBC Radio 1 segment where they printed out text from these viral clips for Cena to read. He was then shown the actual clips which include our favourites such as Jackie Weaver and Ronnie Pickering. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter One of the moments that was also shown was impassioned Liverpool fan James Redmond who went viral for his post-match comments back in 2017 when the The Reds won 4-2 against Hoffenheim in a Champions League play-off. "No you see I'm talking facts here. I don't do ifs, buts and maybes, I do absolutes," Cena said, reading out Redmond's words. "And, you know like, if your aunt had balls she'd be your uncle. But she doesn't so she's not. Do you know what I'm try to say." The clip is then played to Cena for him to understand the full context, and he even gives the Scouse accent a go as he mimicked Redmond by repeating: "Why you's laughing for?" and "I'm being serious!" @bbcradio1 we taught fast x’s john cena about jackie weaver and ronnie pickering… you’re welcome 😭 #johncena #jackieweaver #ronniepickering #britishcomedy Thoroughly impressed with Redmond, a smiling Cena said: "Kid's nine and he's that sharp. Razor wit. I don't have jokes like that when I was six. He added: "This kid's three. He shouldn't be able to talk." But that wasn't all as Cena also had a go at doing a Yorkshire accent when "I'm in my mum's car" viral Vine clip was played, Fans couldn't quite believe what they were seeing, as they shared their bewilderment in the comments. One person wrote: "I never thought i would ever see John Cena attempt a scouse accent." "Seeing Johns face absolutely transfixed on these iconic British memes is absolutely incredible." Someone else added: "Ngl his impressions are actually not bad." "I just want a whole account of John Cena doing an English accent," a fourth person commented. "The Little Mermaid' shines, thanks to Halle Bailey and a warm wave of nostalgia
As the movie that began Disney's animation renaissance in 1989, a live-action "The Little Mermaid" comes with big fins to fill. Thanks largely to star Halle Bailey, the lavish musical holds up nicely under the weight of those expectations, preserving the original's essence while updating undernourished aspects of it and riding a warm, hard-to-resist wave of nostalgia.

Beyonce laughs off awkward on-stage blunder during sold out concert
Beyonce laughed at her own fumble as she got the words wrong during her sell-out show in Edinburgh on Saturday. In the eyes of her fans, performer and all-round icon Beyonce can do no wrong. But it seems even the superstar herself was caught off guard and had to laugh at her own on-stage error. The funny moment came during a performance of her track HEATED, which comes from her 2022 album Renaissance, which the world tour she is currently on is named after. In the song, the lyric mentions fashion designer Coco Chanel, with the words: “Cuff me, please, cause this ain't fair. Dripped in my pearls like Coco Chanel.” But, during her performance at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, Beyonce accidentally pronounced it “Coco Kernel” and immediately laughed at her own mistake while the crowd continued singing the rest of the song before she rejoined them. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter The moment was shared by an unofficial Rennaisance tour account with the caption: “Beyoncé has the cutest reaction to messing up the ‘Heated’ verse tonight in Edinburgh.” Fans were happy to see the star having so much fun on her tour, which began on 10 May in Stockholm and is due to end on 27 September in New Orleans. “She’s so real for this,” one fan wrote. Another said: “She seems like she’s having a lot of fun this tour already and I love this for her.” Someone else argued: “Even her flops are legendary.” It comes after some suggested the star “threw shade” at Sweden after clips emerged appearing to show a lacklustre crowd in Stockholm. Tim Robbins has brutal response to Trump supporter who claimed they 'hanged out'
The Shawshank Redemption actor Tim Robbins had a brutally honest response to a conservative author who claimed on Twitter the two ‘hanged out.’ Nick Adams, an Australian-born American Trump supporter, has written numerous books, with his most recent titled The Most Dangerous President in History, written about Joe Biden. Other books of Adams include Trump and Churchill: Defenders of Western Civilisation and Retaking America: Crushing Political Correctness. Adams tweeted a picture of him and Robbins on Friday with the caption ‘hanging out with Tim Robbins at JFK.’ Robbins responded to the tweet by quoting it, adding : ‘not ‘hanging out.’ Dude asked for a picture. I obliged. He left.’ Robbins’ response gained so much attention that Twitter added a community note to Adams’ original tweet that read: ‘According to Tim Robbins, they were not hanging out. When asked to take a photo, Robbins obliged.’ Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Many Twitter users loved Robbins’ harsh honesty: Adams didn’t seem to be too happy about Robbins’ clarification, and the piling laughter at his expense. He went on to call Robbins a ‘woke Hollywood liberal.’ Adams Twitter profile proudly displays his belief that he’s an ‘Alpha Male’. As well as his pinned tweet reading: ‘Yes, I am more successful and attractive than you. No, I will not be apologizing for it.’ Have your say in our news democracy. Taylor Swift fan who missed out on tickets gets job as concert security instead
Getting tickets to Taylor Swift's Era Tour was a struggle for a lot of fans, but one Swiftie was a real "mastermind" by devising a solution to ensure he didn't miss out. Davis Perrigo, an accountant (and a big TS fan) from Nashville was so determined to see the popstar live that he applied to become a security guard at Swift's Nashville concert. Although Perrigo was unable to use his phone to film while doing the job and had to face the crowd as part of the role, it didn't stop him for belting out the lyrics to Swift's biggest hits, which one concertgoer managed to video. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter In the TikTok, posted by Ryan Bailey (@sobaditsgoodwithryanb), that was sent in by one of his listeners called Leah, Perrigo can be seen facing the crowd but simultaneously (and passionately) singing his heart to 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' "Loved this video one of my listeners Leah sent where a security guard gives Taylor a run for her money at one of her Nashville shows!" the caption read. The video has since gone viral with 6.9m views, 1.2m likes, along with thousands of comments who loved Perrigo's enthusiasm. @sobaditsgoodwithryanb Loved this video one of my listeners Leah sent where a security guard gives Taylor a run for her money at one of her Nashville shows! #taylorswift #taylornation #swiftie #swifttok One person wrote: "He was in front of section E night one. He knew all the songs." "Davis is me. I am Davis," another person said. A third added: "He was just so excited to be there and I’m happy for him." "Give this man a raise she's right there and he didn't look back once," a fourth person commented. Someone else replied: "Ryan Reynolds just wanted a unique experience of the show," noting that he looked like the Deadpool actor. “I’ve been to all sorts of sporting events, this was the loudest I’ve ever heard it,” Perrigo told News Channel 5, describing the crowd as “ unbelievably loud." He noted how at one point he was- “reprimanded” by Swift’s security, where he was instructed to “take it down a notch.” “My wife, she jokes that I sing Taylor Swift songs with such passion for someone who’s never been broken up with,” Perrigo said. All in all, he says it was "a blessing that I didn’t get tickets," after working one of the coolest jobs. Have your say in our news democracy.
