Emily Maitlis has reacted to the casting choice of the BBC and Amazon drama 'A Very Royal Scandal' based on her infamous 2019 interview with Prince Andrew. Michael Sheen is set to play the controversial royal and Ruth Wilson is taking on the role of the former Newsnight presenter, with production already underway, Variety reported. The three-part drama, aptly titled “A Very Royal Scandal will follow “Emily Maitlis’s professional and personal journey as a Newsnight journalist, leading up to her acclaimed interview with Prince Andrew.” Back in 2019, the 58-minute programme saw Prince Andrew being put in the hot seat over his relationship with the American convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Following the interview, Prince Andrew stepped back from royal duties and in 2022 he paid a financial settlement to his alleged victim and accuser, Virginia Giuffre. When news of the casting broke, Maitlis herself took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the casting choice which she appears to be impressed with. "Blimey. First time I’ve seen this in print. What an exceptional cast," she wrote. "A Very Royal Scandal" comes after the success of previous dramas “A Very English Scandal” starring Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw and “A Very British Scandal” starring Claire Foy and Paul Bettany. Meanwhile, this isn't the only adaptation of the notable interview set to hit our screens in the future. It was announced last year that a film will be made called "Scoop" starring Rufus Sewell and Gillian Anderson, and written by Peter Moffat which is set to be released on Netflix. Jamie Lynn Spears has finally addressed her relationship with her sister Britney, as she appears on I'm A Celebrity alongside a host of other famous faces. Spears got into a deep chat with First Dates' Fred Sirieix, over where she stands with Britney following the fallout of her conservatorship ending. "I think every family fights and has their stuff but I talked to her before I came here and we love each other", she confirmed. Heartbreaking clips are emerging on social media of Taylor Swift performing a song about loss, just days after a fan died before her concert in Brazil on Friday, when temperatures exceeded 100 degrees fahrenheit. Paying tribute to the fan online, Swift said she wouldn't be able to speak about it on stage, however, many believe she gave a nod to the situation when she later performed 'Bigger than the Whole Sky', getting emotional. Hopeful festival goers joined together in unity this morning to celebrate the great British tradition of queueing for another great British Tradition: Glastonbury Festival. Tickets for the 2024 edition of the yearly music festival went on sale this morning, with tickets costing £360 (£355 with a £5 booking fee per ticket). Music-lovers had to drop £75 on a deposit today before fronting up the rest of their balance in the first week of April 2024. Frantic users joined the 9am GMT queue and waited - but that was far from the end of the story. Fans speculated that tickets would sell-out fast, pointing to the fact that Coach tickets to Worthy Farm sold out on Thursday within just 25 minutes. Thankfully, they lasted quite a lot longer than that - 58 minutes to be exact. Those 58 minutes though, for a lot of people, were spent waiting on the 'screen of death.' Before hopefuls could purchase their ticket, they had to brave the aforementioned Glastonbury ticket queue - a holding page on a timer that automatically refreshes on 20 seconds (or thereabouts) before redirecting the user into a ticket purchasing window, or back into the holding page - or even worse, onto the 9:58am notice saying that tickets have sold out. It was an ordeal. Despite the lucky many who received tickets after waiting in the queue, there were just as many queuers who left empty-handed. And of course, a lot of people left enraged by the waiting room and the technology behind it. This isn't the end though - fans will have one more chance to buy tickets at a resale in the Spring for cancelled or returned tickets. As anyone who joined the queue at 9am and bagged a ticket knows, there's always a bit of hope. A Taylor Swift fan tragically passed away before the pop star's concert in Brazil last night due to the heat in the venue. 23-year-old Ana Benevides passed away before the concert, believed to be caused by dehydration and heat exhaustion - although this has not been confirmed. Swift put a statement on her Instagram story about the loss. "I can't believe I'm writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this. There's very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young," Swift wrote. "I'm not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil." Attendees of the concert revealed that they were not allowed to bring water bottles inside and the venue did little to provide water and other safety measures once people had entered the venue. Fan Monica Bertha shared a video she had taken at the concert where Swift is seen checking on fans to make sure they're receiving water. The venue - Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos - is facing calls to allow fans to bring in water to stop something like this ever happening again. Movie fans have just realised there's a huge blunder in James Cameron's The Abyss, and once you see it, you can't unsee it. In a clip posted to Twitter, a huge tidal wave is heading towards the beach, however, while most people are running away, one guy in the corner is using his impending doom as a chance to pull his friend's swimming trunks down one last time. Gossip, the popular indie rock band, have announced plans to release a new album called 'Real Power'.

It’s not even been released yet, but the fallout from the Madame Web trailer just goes to show that nothing is ever safe from internet meme culture. The clip from the upcoming Sony superhero movie gives fans a flavour of Dakota Johnson’s debut as she plays character Cassandra Webb for the first time. There’s a lot to take in, with a host of new stars and exciting stunts showcased in the clip, but one particular line of dialogue has made the biggest impression so far. And what’s the line? Well, it’s a line about a mysterious male character familiar to Johnson’s character. “He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died.” Admittedly, it’s delivered in a slightly stunted way, and fans have really cottoned onto it in the hours since the trailer was released. Pretty soon, the internet was having a field day with the whole thing. Fans will have to wait until the film is released on February 16 until they can find any more meme-worthy lines of dialogue. It’s the biggest story in the gaming world, and now there’s been more detail reportedly leaked about Grand Theft Auto 6. Developers Rockstar put fans on high alert recently after announcing the release of a new trailer, due later this year. While it’s yet to be confirmed, there’s more info been rumoured about the highly-anticipated game, some of which represents a first for the series. We already know that reports suggest the new game will include a playable female character for the first time in the game franchise since the release of Grand Theft Auto III. Now, it’s also been reported that it will feature a young child character for the first time. Previous reports claimed that the game is said to feature two bank robbers as playable main characters, a man and a woman, who have a Bonnie and Clyde-like relationship. According to RockstarUniverse, the female protagonist, named Lucia, will have a child who features in cutscenes – the first time the series will feature a young child in the storyline. Details have still yet to emerge about the new game, but one thing we do know is Rockstar have a big job on their hands if they want to match the success of Grand Theft Auto V. The fifth instalment of the hugely popular video game series was released in 2013 and went on to sell 185 million copies. There is plenty of speculation about the new game. According to a report in Bloomberg, the series will return to Vice City, the setting for iconic 00s game GTA Vice City based on Miami, for the new instalment. Big Brother's Trish Balusa has given us her first media interview since being evicted from the Big Brother house - and she's addressing the tweet scandal that has rocked her reputation since leaving. Fans who has supported the outspoken, left-wing, self-confessed feminist were left gobsmacked to discover the nature of her posts from the past, perpetuating homophobia and racism through the lens of someone entirely different to who we'd seen on screen. "You know, I was so shocked", she said of the moment she found out the tweets had been pulled up, despite an independent company allegedly doing digital background checks on all of the contestants before they entered the house. "I think for the first time, I looked in the mirror and I saw in myself, the people that I criticise and the things that I stand against." The mum-of-one has since put out a written apology online, and surprisingly, most people have been forgiving, likely due to her switched-on political compass while under the watchful eye of Big Brother. "You express a view [online] and then you're done you move on from it, and then maybe you learn, you change, challenge yourself, you gain different experiences," she notes. "You don't get to go back and elaborate on that view. You don't get to go back and say: 'actually, according to my experiences now or the people I've learned that people have educated me, this is what I think now'". "I love the support, I love that people can give me grace. But I also get that there are some people who this is still very new to them." She adds: "I do want to remind people that I couldn't fake who I wasn't big brother for that long." Trish has since vowed to have honest conversations with the friends she made in the house who will undoubtably be affected by her words, including Yinrun, Jordan, Henry, and Matty - all of which she would love to remain friends with on the outside. Notably, however, she candidly opened up on the impact the revelations had on her brother, who is transgender. "I was really apologetic, I was like: 'I've let you down because we've come so far through this journey' and I have to look back at that person, someone that's very close to me, someone that's in a community, they're going to have to look at that", she says. "This is a conversation I'm going to have to have with a lot of people who are in those marginalised group that are hurt by the comments that I had made in the past.
