Tim Robbins has brutal response to Trump supporter who claimed they 'hanged out'
The Shawshank Redemption actor Tim Robbins had a brutally honest response to a conservative author who claimed on Twitter the two ‘hanged out.’ Nick Adams, an Australian-born American Trump supporter, has written numerous books, with his most recent titled The Most Dangerous President in History, written about Joe Biden. Other books of Adams include Trump and Churchill: Defenders of Western Civilisation and Retaking America: Crushing Political Correctness. Adams tweeted a picture of him and Robbins on Friday with the caption ‘hanging out with Tim Robbins at JFK.’ Robbins responded to the tweet by quoting it, adding : ‘not ‘hanging out.’ Dude asked for a picture. I obliged. He left.’ Robbins’ response gained so much attention that Twitter added a community note to Adams’ original tweet that read: ‘According to Tim Robbins, they were not hanging out. When asked to take a photo, Robbins obliged.’ Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Many Twitter users loved Robbins’ harsh honesty: Adams didn’t seem to be too happy about Robbins’ clarification, and the piling laughter at his expense. He went on to call Robbins a ‘woke Hollywood liberal.’ Adams Twitter profile proudly displays his belief that he’s an ‘Alpha Male’. As well as his pinned tweet reading: ‘Yes, I am more successful and attractive than you. No, I will not be apologizing for it.’ Have your say in our news democracy. Taylor Swift fan who missed out on tickets gets job as concert security instead
Getting tickets to Taylor Swift's Era Tour was a struggle for a lot of fans, but one Swiftie was a real "mastermind" by devising a solution to ensure he didn't miss out. Davis Perrigo, an accountant (and a big TS fan) from Nashville was so determined to see the popstar live that he applied to become a security guard at Swift's Nashville concert. Although Perrigo was unable to use his phone to film while doing the job and had to face the crowd as part of the role, it didn't stop him for belting out the lyrics to Swift's biggest hits, which one concertgoer managed to video. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter In the TikTok, posted by Ryan Bailey (@sobaditsgoodwithryanb), that was sent in by one of his listeners called Leah, Perrigo can be seen facing the crowd but simultaneously (and passionately) singing his heart to 'I Knew You Were Trouble.' "Loved this video one of my listeners Leah sent where a security guard gives Taylor a run for her money at one of her Nashville shows!" the caption read. The video has since gone viral with 6.9m views, 1.2m likes, along with thousands of comments who loved Perrigo's enthusiasm. @sobaditsgoodwithryanb Loved this video one of my listeners Leah sent where a security guard gives Taylor a run for her money at one of her Nashville shows! #taylorswift #taylornation #swiftie #swifttok One person wrote: "He was in front of section E night one. He knew all the songs." "Davis is me. I am Davis," another person said. A third added: "He was just so excited to be there and I’m happy for him." "Give this man a raise she's right there and he didn't look back once," a fourth person commented. Someone else replied: "Ryan Reynolds just wanted a unique experience of the show," noting that he looked like the Deadpool actor. “I’ve been to all sorts of sporting events, this was the loudest I’ve ever heard it,” Perrigo told News Channel 5, describing the crowd as “ unbelievably loud." He noted how at one point he was- “reprimanded” by Swift’s security, where he was instructed to “take it down a notch.” “My wife, she jokes that I sing Taylor Swift songs with such passion for someone who’s never been broken up with,” Perrigo said. All in all, he says it was "a blessing that I didn’t get tickets," after working one of the coolest jobs. Have your say in our news democracy. Adult star Riley Reid shares emotional warning to anyone considering a career in porn
Riley Reid is one of the world’s most successful porn stars and lives in a $4.8 million mansion, yet she wouldn’t recommend her career to others. In an emotional YouTube video, the 31-year-old (real name Ashley Mathews), admitted that her job had destroyed her relationship with her family and caused a range of issues in her personal life. “A lot of times when people ask me if they should do porn, I tell them no, I tell them that it makes life really hard, it makes dating really hard, it makes your family life really hard, it makes intimacy hard,” she says in the 2020 clip which has recently resurfaced on Twitter. “If you're putting yourself out there and the world is now judging you, you have to be OK with being shamed every day of your life.” Sign up for our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Mathews, went on to say that the abuse she suffered had even put her off starting a family of her own. “I don't even want to have children because I do porn, because I'm worried [about] the way that people will treat my child,” she explained. She then acknowledged that her mother had been supportive at the start of her career – “She kind of just let me do whatever” – but things soon turned sour. “When I started to set these boundaries, not giving her money or things like that - it made our relationship a bit more difficult and almost toxic and so it sucks. “I don't have a mum anymore, I don't talk to her, I miss having a mum. I feel like you can't rewind and you can't go back. I don't have that relationship with her anymore. I don't ever think I will and that bums me out. It bums me out a lot.” Mathews said her career had also driven a wedge between her “religious” father and her. “Recently I wanted to go visit him and he said that I can't go visit because his wife - my stepmum - does not want me there,” she said. “I'm not allowed to go visit my dad anymore because my stepmum doesn't like that I do porn.” But, she continued: “When I was like well can we go get coffee or breakfast, he was like 'I don't want to be seen in public with you' and that just f***ing hurt so bad and it sucks.” Wiping back tears, she concluded: “I’ve lost my family, I don't talk to my brothers or my sisters. I think that they all kind of tried to take advantage of me and stuff or they're just like my dad – don't want to be around me.” And yet, despite her reservations about having children, Mathews and her husband Pasha Petkuns became parents to a baby girl in November last year. The 31-year-old’ is loving motherhood, if the heart-warming photos she’s posted to Instagram are anything to go by. However, understandably, she’s not loving the backlash her defenceless child has received. “The amount of people who leave mean comments about my baby is crazy to me,” she said in a video posted earlier this month. “Grow up. Stop being mean to a baby.” Have your say in our news democracy. Click the upvote icon at the top of the page to help raise this article through the indy100 rankings.

Tom Grennan steps in to help Argentinian Coventry fan reach Wembley dream
Tom Grennan has helped a Coventry fan from Argentina by covering his expenses and allowing him to watch his team's Championship play-off final next weekend. The singer-songwriter made the offer to Lauti, a passionate Coventry supporter who planned to sell his car in order to be able to fly over to watch the crucial match live. Speaking to BBC Sport Coventry & Warwickshire, Lauti described his feelings about the upcoming play-off match against Luton Town on May 27, which could result on the side returning to the Premier League for the first time in 22 years if they win the game. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter "What happened is just unbelievable. I have no words to describe what I am feeling now," the Argentine said. "When I started to support Coventry we were playing at Wembley too, but we were playing against Exeter in League Two so I never expected this. He added: "This is more than a dream come true. I am selling my car. I think my girl is not happy because I am selling it to go to Wembley. "We are one game away from our dream, from playing again in the Premier League so vamos Sky Blues." Soon, the video caught the attention of Grennan who tweeted out his generous offer (and saved Lauti from selling his car) as the singer noted he will not be able to attend the match because he's got to perform at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend. "I WILL PAY FOR THIS LAD!!!! I can’t go to the final as I’m performing at BBCR1 weekend in Dundee," Grennan wrote. "Devastated to miss the game, but instead I’ll pay for this lad to come over for the game. Does he have a ticket? Someone let me know." In a follow-up tweet, Grennan replied to another Coventry fan who set up a GoFundMe page for Lauti and was keen to send the money over. Grennan proved to be a man of his word as the footy fan shared an image of the £2,000 transaction that the singer donated, calling him an "absolute legend." Previously, Grennan trained to be a professional footballer as a youngster and was on the books at Luton (who Coventry are up against in the play-offs) and also took part in Soccer Aid last year. Ryan Reynolds has one word response to his Tesla 'ad' shared by Elon Musk
A new Tesla ad shared on social media claiming to feature Ryan Reynolds has come to the attention of Elon Musk – only, it’s not real and instead it's completely fabricated through the use of deepfake technology. Tesla CEO Musk replied to Twitter user @meetRealKevin after he posted a video that jokingly claimed to feature Reynolds as the new face of the company. "How much do you think it would cost to own a car that’s this f***ing awesome?!” the fake Reynolds says in the clip. He then adds: “Whose balls do I have to fondle to get a Tesla instead of a s*** Corolla?” Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Musk replied to the clip by commenting with the word “nice”, simultaneously bringing it to the attention of his millions of followers. It wasn’t long until the shoe was on the other foot, though. Reynolds’ response? The actor simply added the comment “nice”. It’s not the first time stories about Musk and deepfakes have made headlines over recent times. Photos of Elon Musk kissing a female humanoid robot has gone viral, but everything is not as it seems. Bizarre photo of 'Elon Musk kissing a robot' goes viral
A photo of Elon Musk kissing a female humanoid robot has gone viral, but everything is not as it seems. Billionaire Musk is known for being at the forefront of modern technology, with his ventures including industries such as space travel and electric vehicles. Following new footage that reveals Tesla’s integrated robot Optimus can walk, navigate and pick things up, AI-generated images of Musk kissing female-looking humanoids have gone viral. They emerged alongside a tweet by Twitter user Daniel Marven, in which he claimed the Tesla and Twitter CEO is designing a robot “that has been manufactured specifically designed with artificial intelligence with the personality and the characteristics of the female that he dreams of”. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Accompanying the tweet were four AI-generated images of Musk kissing three different “wife” robots and dancing with one other. Unlike the real Tesla robots, the AI-generated ones have distinctive human-like facial features. The images possess some of the current tell-tale signs that an image has been created by AI – for example, the hand on one of the robots possess too many fingers, while the hands on other robots in the images are distorted. Some of the viral images appear to have been created by the same user who was behind the viral image of Pope Francis wearing a puffer jacket, Pablo Xavier. On Instagram, one user joked: “Elon finally found his soulmate(s).” Someone on Twitter said: “iRobot is about to be reality.” While the images are fake, many are impressed with the advancements that Tesla has made with its real robot, Optimus. Kendall Jenner quizzed about 'editing out' Bad Bunny from latest photo dump
Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny have sparked dating rumours after being photographed together at different events - but fans have noted the Puerto Rican rapper was absent from the model's recent Instagram post. The pair were recently spotted together on May 12 at the Western Conference Semifinal Playoff basketball game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors at Crypto.com Arena. Taylor Swift fans write open letter criticising her 'relationship' with Matty Healy
Fans of Taylor Swift have written an open letter to the pop star asking her to distance herself from The 1975 frontman Matty Healy. Titled #SpeakUpNow, a play on Swift’s album Speak Now, set to be re-released July 7th, has sparked conversation from both sides on Twitter. The letter, first posted by account @SpeakUpNow_13, expressed ‘disappointment’ with Swift’s recent sightings with Healy. Healy has been spotted at multiple of Taylor’s shows as she embarks on a US tour, igniting dating rumours after Swift’s recent split from her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Sign up to our free Indy100 weekly newsletter Healy has faced multiple controversies for his actions in the past, accused of ‘engaging in racist remarks and making offensive jokes’ are some of the issues Swift’s fans, known as Swifties, have raised in the letter. They write: ‘your voice holds tremendous power and right now your silence is palpable,’ adding, ‘we urge you to reflect on the impact of your own and your associates’ behaviour.’ The original account has since be deleted following criticising from fans and others accusing the user of having a ‘parasocial relationship’ with the singer. A term often used to describe the relationship between fans and celebrities, who have no idea the fan exists. Some quoted previous statements made by Swift about having people ask invasive questions surrounding her personal life and accused the fan of crossing boundaries. Others said those sharing the hashtag are ‘chronically online’. Others rose to the defence of the letter, saying you’re allowed to hold someone accountable. One Taylor Swift fan account wrote it’s disappointing to see ‘a lot of hate and comments ridiculing this,’ adding, ‘it’s okay to love an artist and speak up when you are disappointed or disagree with them.’ Some fans announced they had cancelled their pre-orders of Swift’s latest re-release, saying they don’t feel comfortable giving her money whilst she supports Healy and remains silent on his controversies. People of colour have shared the hurt they feel from Swift’s association with Healy, who made comments on a podcast earlier in the year about watching porn that humiliated and dehumanised black women.
