LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: With an incredible number of subscribers, Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast has managed to establish his name as the most successful individual creator on YouTube.
The YouTube sensation who won the coveted 'Creator of the Year' award at the 2023 Streamy Awards stole the show, even without his presence.
MrBeast wins Creator of the Year award
Along with being titled 'Creator of the Year,' MrBeast also had a "Collaboration" victory, all thanks to his hilarious rock-paper-scissors stunt featuring Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock.
Streamy honors creators in a wide range of categories, including podcasts, beauty, comedy, gastronomy, gaming, music, and more.
Icona Pop and Armani White gave powerful performances to honor the occasion. 'RuPaul's Drag Race' star Shea Couleé also made an appearance at the event.
Other well-known people who took home awards this year include the Jonas Brothers, crossover category winners; Logan Paul, creative product winner; and Jay Shetty, winner for his On Purpose podcast.
However, one of the reasons that concerned fans was that MrBeast was not seen at the awards ceremony on August 27, and although the YouTube star acknowledged he won the prestigious award, responding on Twitter with “Hype”, netizens were still baffled as to why he never attended the event.
Why did MrBeast not attend the event?
The 25-year-old YouTube creator, MrBeast claimed that he was simply too busy recording upcoming videos to be present at the event. User @ryan posted a clip on Twitter, captioned, "MrBeast won Creator of the Year but didnt even show up."
To which the creator of the year replied, "I’m filming videos,” adding the sobbing emoji.
MrBeast recently revealed his issues with mental illness, saying he is "dying mentally" under pressure to be ready to post films every week at the end of the year.
MrBeast is on a bit of a run after breaking a YouTube record for his third consecutive video. Fans have asked him to take a break, if necessary.
