Spoilers for 'Secret Invasion' Episode 3
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Marvel’s latest mini-series ‘Secret Invasion’ has reached the midpoint as things start to get more intense. By more intense, we mean there is more things afoot than a main character's death. Yes, people are still recovering from Maria Hill’s death in the pilot episode of ‘Secret Invasion’. Nevertheless, as the Skrulls progress with their invasion, so does the series, but it also brings another iconic duo back together.

Talos and Nick Fury have a history that scales over decades, but ‘Secret Invasion’ is doing a great job of opening up some old wounds. It is almost like Fury and Talos are in couple’s therapy… but without a therapist. ‘Secret Invasion’ Episode 3 sees the duo renew their friendship after their brief separation, and their scenes prove to be the most light-hearted parts of the episode.
Talos makes Fury beg
One of the main highlights of ‘Secret Invasion’ Episode 3 was Talos confronting Gravik, but that’s not what caught our attention. Instead, Fury and Talos reuniting quickly became the consistent ongoing storyline in ‘Secret Invasion’ Episode 3. In the last episode, we saw this duo split up for a moment, and do their own thing as their egos and past betrayals caused a major clash. However, it didn’t take either of them to realize that they needed each other. Only, Fury needed Talos more, and Talos was ready to make that known.
As Fury mocks Talos’ plate of food (which quite frankly, didn’t look too appetizing so we don’t blame Fury), Talos makes sure that Fury uses the right words this time around. At first, Fury denies that he’s around to ask Talos for help, but it doesn’t take him long to let his guard down. “Help me, Talos, ‘cause I’m useless without you.” These were the exact words Talos needed Fury to use, and it took a lot of courage for Fury to do it, but he did.

Talos and Fury set out on a mission with intel from G’iah and some help from Sonya Falsworth, as they try and abort a strike that could potentially start World War III. The Skrulls are smart and strong, but Talos and Fury had the upper hand all thanks to G’iah, but how long will that last? Of course, on their way to this mission too, Talos and Fury bicker like a married couple as Fury tries to downplay all the help he has received from Talos in the last three decades. Frankly, it’s refreshing to see Talos finally take ownership for all that he has done, and hopefully Fury understands that too, because there isn’t much time left.
Can Fury trust Talos?
There’s a lot that happens in ‘Secret Invasion’ Episode 3, and by the end of it, if there is one person Fury can trust, it has to be Talos. At this point, Fury cannot trust even his own wife. James Rhodes has given up on Fury too, and of course, Maria Hill is dead. All Fury has left at this point is Talos, so it would be best for both of them to keep each other in their good books. But at the end of the day, with Talos ultimately being a Skrull himself, how long will this bond last? Can the Skrull invasion be that one element that finally tears Fury and Talos apart? We have three more episodes left to find that out!
