NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Sunday, September 17, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy made an appearance on Fox News' 'Sunday Morning Futures' where he spoke with host Maria Bartiromo about the most recent developments in the impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden.
Also last Tuesday, McCarthy announced that House Republicans had unveiled what they considered to be "serious and credible allegations" related to the POTUS' conduct, which would form the foundation for the impeachment inquiry.
Subsequently, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to share McCarthy’s remarks on Biden family members.
However, the Internet didn’t respond positively to Hannity’s post as he faced backlash, with the demand for him to be held "accountable."
Sean Hannity shares Kevin McCarthy’s comment about Biden family members getting money
Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to share an article that featured a video of Kevin McCarthy giving his statement on President Joe Biden’s impeachment inquiry.
Hannity wrote, "McCARTHY: "Well, it looks to me like nine Biden family members got money. I want to see bank statements. I think they’d have to come before us to answer the questions"," quoting the House Speaker.
The article on Hannity’s official website was placed under the 'Biden Impeachment Watch' category and titled, "NINE ANGRY BIDENS! McCarthy Says GOP Will Subpoena 9 Biden Family Members; Report."
"According to The Daily Caller, McCarthy announced Tuesday that Republicans would move forward with an impeachment inquiry into Biden, saying there is enough evidence from both the House Judiciary and Oversight committees to move forward," read the piece.
It added, "The basis of the inquiry alleges Biden was involved in influence-peddling with his son Hunter’s overseas business dealings."
During the interview, Bartiromo asked, "Are there plans to subpoena any other family members? Because according to the Republicans, family members accepted money."
McCarthy replied, "Well, it looks to me like nine Biden family members got money. I want to see bank statements. I think they’d have to come before us to answer the questions."
