NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES: Kim Zolciak, former star of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta', is facing backlash as her past actions resurface. According to her eldest daughter, Brielle Biermann, Kim allegedly forced her to accompany her on a two-hour drive to a North Carolina casino and wait in the car until 3 am while her mother gambled.
Brielle claims she was instructed to keep the outing a secret. The post read, "one time I was walking out to go to dinner n my mom said get in the car we’re going somewhere [sic] i was like uhhh where? She said "shhh secret to get in,” Biermann, now 26, wrote in an August 2020 tweet. 2 HOURS LATER we end up at a casino in North Carolina:-) i was 20:-) had to stay in the car the whole time:-) we were there till 3 am:-)".
Kim Zolciak slammed online for 'bad parenting'
Critics on social media have condemned Kim for her questionable parenting choices, regardless of the time that has passed since the incident. Many expressed their skepticism towards her parenting other children if she was capable of such behavior. Others pointed out the potential seriousness of her gambling problem, highlighting the secrecy surrounding the casino visit and its impact on her daughter. The social media comments also highlighted concerns that Kim's actions could be used against her in Kroy's pursuit of custody of their children.
One wrote, “We do not wanna pretend that Kim wins the Mom of the Year award. We know she has…less than traditional ways of parenting so I believe it." Another said, "It sounds like her gambling was a problem if her daughter was told to keep their casino stop a secret."
Another commented, "But she posts on social media and now Kroy has more ammo to get custody of his kids... thanks Brielle". A tweet added, "Moral of the story, shorty has/had a gambling problem. More than likely she told her to hold tight let me go grab something right quick. The prevailing sentiment among critics was that Kim's behavior indicated a gambling issue, suggesting that she may have left her daughter waiting in the car for longer than anticipated.
A messy divorce
Kim, 45, and her ex-husband Kroy Biermann, 37, shared the responsibility of raising their daughter Brielle, now 26, for 11 years until their recent divorce proceedings. During their contentious divorce, Kroy accused Kim of having a gambling addiction. In court documents obtained by Page Six, the former NFL star requested that Kim undergo a psychological evaluation due to her alleged "compulsion" to spend excessive time and marital funds on gambling and other games of chance. Kroy, who has six children with Kim, claimed that her behavior had financially devastated their family, providing bank statements and checks as evidence of large withdrawals.
In a surprising turn of events, Kroy, the former Atlanta Falcons star and ex-husband of Kim, filed for divorce against her separately in early May. This came on the same day that Kim had also filed for divorce. According to new court documents, Kroy stated that he and Kim had been living together "until approximately the filing" of his complaint, which contradicts Kim's filing in which she listed the date of separation as April 30, as reported by TMZ. The divergent accounts regarding their separation add another layer of complexity to their divorce proceedings.
