CLEVELAND, OHIO: Following this week's Monday Night RAW, Ricochet was verbally slammed by Logan Paul. After his backstage interview with Byron Saxton, Logan subsequently posted a one-word comment on social media geared toward Ricochet. The latter also made a strong statement during the duo's altercation on RAW by attacking Logan when he was preoccupied filming the scene on his phone.
After the fight, Logan went on to share a video of his backstage chat with Byron Saxton on an Instagram Story. During the interview, the "Maverick" even hinted that he will be back on next week's RAW to face his bitter foe.
'Awkward'
In the backstage interview, Logan made some contentious comments against Ricochet, including calling out his "stupid, bald head." Notably, Maverick was talking to Saxton, who is also bald. This might have led to Logan writing the word "awkward" while sharing a clip of the interview on his Instagram stories.
In a recent statement, Konnan pushed the WWE to give Ricochet more freedom, given his present position as a superstar. The WCW veteran even stated during a segment on the 'Keepin' It 100' podcast that Ricochet is capable of doing a variety of aerial maneuvers. Moreover, only a few employees at the Stamford-based corporation can match the former champion's acrobatic wrestling skills, according to Konnan. "Here's the thing with Trevor [Ricochet]. When I was working with him in Lucha Underground, bro, they need to let him loose. There's nobody in NXT or any of the two brands that can do what he can do. He does some incredible s**t. And I always said that after Rey [Mysterio], he'd be the next great high-flyer. And they have corralled him in, you know, and he can do really cool s**t," Konnan said.
'Crossover fights are getting more eyes'
After the announcement of a probable battle with KSI in October, Tommy Fury has been tipped to face Jake Paul again, along with his brother, Logan. The 'Love Island' star, who in February defeated Jake for the first time in his career, is anticipated to face KSI in his subsequent bout. The latter squared off against Tommy after his battle against Joe Fournier in May, and the two had to be separated as they were pushing one another.
Furthermore, John Fury, Tommy's father, believes that his son won't be making a quick comeback to traditional boxing because the influencer scene offers him a higher income. "I think he's got this one [with KSI] and there's talks with Logan Paul and the Jake Paul rematch. As soon as they're out the way, if he wants to carry on in conventional boxing that's up to him. Conventional boxing doesn't pay does it? They just don't get the viewing figures that MMA does or crossover boxing does," John expressed to Mirror Fighting. "Crossover fights are getting more eyes and more numbers in, they pay better. Nobody likes getting punched in the mouth, so you may as well make as much money from it as you can. He's got those things to do and we'll look at that when he comes to it, but let's concentrate on what we've got today," he added.
