AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan confessed in an interview that he was always opposed to marriage until his now-wife Jessica Ditzel convinced him to get married.
Rogan and his wife have been married for 14 years, but Ditzel has managed to keep out of the limelight with the exception of a few paparazzi snaps outside restaurants or airports.
'I'll sign a silly legal contract'
Rogan told The Palm Beach Post after their 2009 wedding that he walked down the aisle more for legal reasons than for love. The UFC commentator stated that he changed his mind about marriage when Ditzel became pregnant.
"I had to [tie the knot]," he explained. "Not really had to, but you know, she made a baby. [It's] like 'God alright, I'll sign a silly legal contract.' What she did was way more of a commitment."
Six years after his marriage, Rogan was still blathering to anybody who would listen about how little he regards marriage's sanctity, calling it "dumb" in an interview with Rolling Stone.
If you're wondering how the couple is still married after all these years, Rogan said, "She lets me do whatever I do. That's how we get along well." The podcaster also admitted to having a prenup, saying, "I'm ridiculous and dumb, but I'm not stupid."
Why does Jessica Ditzel stay out of the limelight?
Jessica, who is the daughter of singer Jeff Conrad Ditzel, has successfully managed to stay out of the public eye so far. Rogan rarely discusses his wife and children, ensuring privacy for his family. Meanwhile, Jessica has a minimal social media presence and rarely makes public appearances.
She met Rogan while working as a waitress in 2001 and has been in a celebrity relationship with him ever since. Jessica has experience as a model and accounts executive and holds a bachelor's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from The University of Arizona. She had a daughter with Keven 'Dino' Conner and a son with Kayja Rose before marrying Rogan.
