CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA: 'Jeopardy!' has lost another promising star contestant. While Daniel Moore was quite close to becoming a champ for another day, luck was not on his side and he had to give away his returning champ crown after a two-day run.
Fans were gravely disappointed by the results of the latest episode as many of them were rooting for Moore. Some of them flocked to Twitter to share the same and also suggested that he should make a comeback on the show for more appearances.
Daniel Moore's bad 'Jeopardy!' luck
Moore's major advantage over his fellow contestants was that he did extremely well during the first two rounds of the game. He would think on his feet and was able to correctly answer 30 clues in his first 'Jeopardy!' appearance, a record only crossed by host Ken Jennings' average from back when he was a contestant himself.
What Moore stumbled on this time was his gameplay strategy. After reaching a comfortable score, contestants often look for a way to win over Daily Doubles to make their score even harder to compete against and also create a safe blanket for risks taken during Final Jeopardy. Moore seemed to play it safe by going for clues with smaller scores and letting the chance for a big win go to the other contestants. Besides that, Moore continued to perform well and even correctly answered for the Final Jeopardy clue but missed out on the champ title by just $1 on the wager. Regardless, he won over many 'Jeopardy!' fans with his charm.
Fans want Daniel Moore to return to 'Jeopardy!'
Many disheartened fans appealed for Moore to return to the game show for his impressive gameplay for the three episodes he took part in. A fan wrote on Twitter, "Well that wasn’t the ending I wanted. I don’t get to watch as often as I’d like but made an effort to tune in just for Daniel. They should keep him around for that reason alone! Made an instant + great impression from the beginning. I really enjoyed him." A heartbroken fan penned, "Damn, Pittsburgher Daniel Moore’s #Jeopardy run ends after doubling his total in Final Jeopardy but still losing by $1. Hey, two wins out of three ain’t bad at all!!"
Another fan acknowledged Moore's strategies in getting through the three brutal 'Jeopardy! rounds, saying, "Daniel has guts and wagers the way you should there. David is good at math." A fan tweeted, "Daniel must come back as 2nd chance contestant!!!" Another fan wrote, "Oh boy…I thought Daniel would last at least seven days."
Moore had shared during one of the interviews that he wanted to visit every suspension bridge around the country, referring to which a fan wrote, "Tonights jeopardy omg i hope daniel gets to see his suspension bridges."
