CINCINNATI, OHIO: Recently, Darren Watkins Jr, better known as IShowSpeed, showed disappointment in Manchester United’s defeat to Brighton with a score of 1-3.
The world is aware of IShowSpeed's passion for football because he frequently discusses it and engages in FIFA 23 gameplay on his livestream.
In case playing football in a video game wasn't enough, Speed also played football in actual life. He recently took part in the Sidemen Charity Match, where his team was left defeated.
Following the disappointment about his own game, Speed's favorite team, Manchester United, also lost their match on Saturday, September 16. He started to support the team when his beloved striker Cristiano Ronaldo played for them for the second time. Earlier this year, a clip of Speed meeting Ronaldo made waves on the internet.
Why was IShowSpeed disappointed?
In a video uploaded by Speedy Updates on X, IShowSpeed decided to check up on his favorite team, Manchester United, as they had a match against Brighton.
However, the 18-year-old was met with nothing but disappointment. Given that they are now 13th in the Premier League, the Red Devils are not enjoying the best of seasons. Even worse, they lost to Arsenal 3-1 before the break for international play.
There were so high hopes for them to start the campaign on a winning note. However, they were defeated 3-1 by Brighton. The outcome disappointed IShowSpeed.
After seeing Manchester United's performance, he described how challenging it is to be a United fan. He wondered how a team with "a goddam Seagull" on its badge defeated a club with such a remarkable history.
Even though Tottenham Hotspurs are now the second-best team in the English Premier League, the YouTube broadcaster mentioned supporting them instead of Manchester United.
Fans react to IShowSpeed's disappointment
Many Manchester United supporters concurred with IShowSpeed's assessment of what it means to be a fan. At the time of writing, the clip had over 113K views.
A user wrote, "It's hard for us Man Utd fans." A second person said, "Even speed knows." A person added, "We feel your pain bro we're in this together." Another person also concurred, "Fr it's hard to support man u."
A fifth wrote, "Bro made two wrong choices," adding, "Supporting Tottenham is worse man." Another person said, "Bro went from Man U to Spurs, Someone tell him it's not an upgrade."
