NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On August 9, ‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough took a dig at The Wall Street Journal for blaming Joe Biden for the country’s debt. In addition, Scarborough also claimed that Donald Trump had the worst fiscal record of any president in U.S History.
Fast forward to August 13, Scarborough has shared another article by The Wall Street Journal and said, “Both parties need to get serious about our national debt.” The ‘Morning Joe’ host has faced severe backlash on the internet over his recent tweet.
Scarborough’s comment on the national debt
Time and again, Scarborough has solidified his anti-Trump stance on ‘Morning Joe’ as well as on his social media. In his tweet, he mentioned the former President, while also holding the Democratic and Republican parties accountable for the national debt.
Scarborough tweeted, “We balanced the budget 4 years in a row in Congress in the late 1990s. Trump said he would pay off the debt in 4 years. Instead, he ran up the biggest debt in history. Been saying it for 30 years: both parties need to get serious about our national debt.”
Internet disagrees with Scarborough
People have taken a dig at Scarborough’s professional and personal life in response to this tweet as one user wrote, “You’ve went to the Political Left yet occasionally you pretend to be an independent thinker.”
The user added, “You couldn’t tolerate your life partner or work at MSNBC, the most politically biased Network in TV History, if independent thinking was a current aspect of your personality.”
The general consensus disagreed with the host as another person tweeted, “This isn’t a both parties deal. Ask Clinton,” while another wrote, “Biden topped him...and you haven't said that for 30 years.”
Some have also held on to the “30 years” claim made by Scarborough as one person wrote, “If you’ve been freaking out about something for 30 years and nothing has happened, maybe that should tell you something.”
The person continued, “You know that most federal spending goes into the pockets of American citizens, right? And that the federal government prints its own money?”
Of course, the former President was also one of the focal points of people who responded to Scarborough. One tweeted, “Maybe you shouldn't have spent all of 2015 normalizing him and getting him elected?”
Another person said, “Will someone tell' 'one trick pony' Trump obsessed Joe Scarborough that Trump inherited the task to rebuild our military after eight years of Barack Obama's neglect, and there was something called a 'world-side pandemic' that cost Trillions!”
