CHICAGO, UNITED STATES: Jamie Foxx is embracing life and making progress in his recovery from a mysterious medical emergency he experienced earlier this year. The 55-year-old Oscar winner recently hosted a party to mark his improvement, with guests gathering at the rehabilitation facility in Chicago where he has been attending outpatient sessions, as per a source from People magazine.
In April, Foxx encountered a medical emergency while filming 'Back In Action' with Cameron Diaz in Atlanta. Since then, he has been working diligently to regain his health and has shown significant improvement since his arrival at the facility. The celebration was held to commemorate his progress and the strides he has made on his journey to recovery.
Foxx not completely out of the woods
However, the source pointed out that Foxx's journey is ongoing, and he hasn't achieved a complete recovery yet. The source revealed, “He is still doing some outpatient rehab though”. Foxx's daughter, Corinne, has been sharing vague updates about his recovery since she announced the medical complication in April.
In May, she revealed that he had improved enough to engage in activities like playing pickleball. She also mentioned that he had been out of the hospital for weeks, suggesting a relatively short hospitalization period.
In recent sightings, Foxx appeared in high spirits, waving at fans from a boat as he cruised along the Chicago River. Despite the positive strides, sources reported to Us Weekly that he is still not fully recovered. Nonetheless, a recent encounter with a Chicago resident indicated that Foxx believes he is on the path to feeling better. A source told People, when he graciously returned a woman's dropped purse after she lost it from a pedicab, he allegedly told her, "I'm feeling good."
Foxx’s recovery continues
Though Foxx's journey to full recovery continues, his determination and positive outlook are evident as he navigates this challenging phase of his life. In addition to returning the woman's dropped purse, Jamie Foxx replied to her expression of gratitude with a friendly "You're welcome, baby", according to her account. During the brief encounter, the woman noted that his voice sounded calm.
In June, a close friend of Foxx's 'Back In Action' co-star Cameron Diaz revealed to Daily Mail that Foxx had not been in communication with Diaz following his medical emergency. At that time, the actor still had approximately eight days of shooting left for the film. During his recovery period, Cameron continued filming scenes using his body doubles.
