MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: Jennie Kim walked off stage during a performance at Rod Laver Arena on Sunday, June 11, in Melbourne, Australia. Following the incident, Blackpink's management company YG Entertainment released a statement updating that Kim was not able to perform due to her "deteriorating" health condition.
"We regret to inform you that during the Blackpink World Tour [Born Pink] in Melbourne performance on June 11 (today), member Jennie was unable to complete the stage due to her deteriorating condition. Jennie expressed her strong determination to carry on with the performance until the end," read the company's statement.
Jennie is currently advised to rest
The company's statement further revealed that the 'Idol' actress received medical help on-site and YG Entertainment "took measures to ensure she receives ample rest and stability."
"Jennie has conveyed her regrets for not being able to stay with the fans until the end and assures that she will recover as soon as possible. We will do our utmost to support Jennie's speedy recovery. We would like to ask for your understanding once again. Thank you," the company concluded the statement, according to ET Online.
The South Korean girl group is set to perform on Friday and Saturday at the Qudos Bank Arena. However, it remains unclear whether Jennie will return for the band's upcoming performances.
'You tried your best to show up'
On Sunday, a fan took to Twitter to post a video of the K-Pop singer performing 'Lovesick Girls' with her bandmates, Rose, Lisa, and Jisoo when she left the stage. The members then told the audience that Jennie was not feeling well throughout the day.
The 29-year-old singer's fans wished her a speedy recovery following the stage exit. "I cannot do this, I can't see her like this pls get well soon Jennie. You tried your best to show up even though you ain't feeling well," a concerned fan tweeted. One Twitter user wrote, "Get well soon Bebe. A human being can only handle so much traveling and overwork! Tour is too damn long," while another agreed, "It’s time not more adding tour. Guys, if u love them. Let them rest already."
