LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chris Hemsworth's upcoming action thriller movie, 'Extraction 2' is set to be released on June 2 after its predecessor saw a massive success following its release in 2020. The 39-year-old Australian is no stranger when it comes to playing action roles in big movies as he had made a name for himself for his sublime acting in films such as 'Thor' and 'Avengers'.
Hemsworth's wife, Elsa Pataky recently revealed that the actor shared his experiences with her when she was coached by him behind the scenes for her role in the Netflix thriller 'Interceptor', which was released last year. Hemsworth was often found on the set at that time as he also served as the producer of the Netflix thriller.
'He was there to just [offer] all kinds of advice'
"He was there to just [offer] all kinds of advice. Of course, he's a professional action movie star. So it was great to have him holding my hand," Pataky, known for her role as Elena Neves in the 'Fast & Furious' franchise told People. The Australian actor also did not hesitate to share his input during some of Pataky's fight scenes in the movie.
'We're very competitive'
"He knows exactly how to throw a punch," the 46-year-old said as she admitted that she sometimes stood up at his suggestions. "We're very competitive. [I was like] 'Okay, I know what I'm doing.' But in this case, he knows more."
Pataky also revealed that it was Hemsworth who pushed for the role but it was she who took great measures to get in top physical shape. The model trained for more than an hour every day for several months before the filming began. "It was totally a bootcamp," she says. "Going up hills with heavy weights. I wanted to feel what the army girls go through." She insisted on doing many of the movie's action sequences and stunts, resulting in "bruises everywhere," she says. "My body was hurting so much."
Pataky, however, is satisfied to achieve her dream of becoming an action movie star, something which she dreamt of while growing up in Spain. "I wanted to be Indiana Jones," she said. Pataky got the first sniff at fulfilling her dream when she married Hemsworth in 2010 and witnessed the Thor star become one of the biggest heroes in Hollywood. "I've seen Chris working so hard," she continues. "I wanted that challenge, too. He inspires me."
She was also proud to show her three children, India, 10, and twins Tristan and Sasha, 8, what their mother can do. "I was showing them the [action] moves, like, 'Isn't this cool?' They're like, 'Yeah cool!' I was really proud to show them that I'm not just a mom, I can kick ass."
