AUSTIN, TEXAS: For years, Joe Rogan, who is recognized for covering practically anything on his show titled 'The Joe Rogan Experience', has been enamored with Charlize Theron. Theron is, without a doubt, one of the greatest actresses of her generation and has delivered a number of outstanding performances on screen.
She has received several honors, including an Oscar for her film 2003 film 'Monsters'. In this crime drama, director Patty Jenkins follows the story of Aileen Wuornos, played by Theron, as she begins murdering and robbing her customers. Theron received a lot of accolades for her performance in the film and even took home the Best Actress Oscar. The 'JRE' host praised the 47-year-old Hollywood celebrity for this performance as well.
‘She’s so f**ckin hot’
On his podcast, Joe Rogan interviewed author Mark Greaney in February. The two spoke about a variety of subjects before getting to Charlize Theron's role in the 2003 crime film 'Monster'. He expressed his admiration for her performance in the film, stating, “Charlize Theron’s like that. In 'Monster', oh my god, when she played Aileen Wuornos. She’s so f**kin hot. She’s hot as the sun and she gets fat and shaves her eyebrows off, and she looks like this psycho,” Rogan said.
Theron had to put on 30 pounds in order to play Aileen Wuornos in the 2003 movie. She claimed that she wanted to adopt the identity because she thought it was "more extreme." Rogan also praised her dedication to the job and for foregoing other opportunities to properly play the part.
“Oh my god, that’s not even prosthetics? You did that to your body? That’s insane,” he remarked in astonishment. Rogan and Greaney continued by talking about the physical alterations of several performers and how the actress nailed her portrayal.
‘Dude she f**king nailed it’
Joe Rogan was very moved by the fact that she accepted the change despite being a top actress in the field and being aware of the potential negative effects it may have on her body. “And also for a woman, who’s a gorgeous woman, who’s like this A-list actress to do that to her body. And, you know, probably hard to bounce back from that too. I mean, look at her ….dude she f**king nailed it,” he said.
He also discussed the reasons for actors' extreme body modifications. In contrast to Christian Bale, who would have been "a different human being" if cast in the same character, it was much different for the actress since it did not fit with her reputation in the profession.
