LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Felix Lengyel aka xQc, a prominent live streamer, recently transitioned to the emerging platform Kick. Following his move, fellow streamers began expressing their opinions about his decision. One of his fellow streamers, Imane Anys, also known as Pokimane shared her thoughts, "Kick makes Twitch money” during her recent live stream on Twitch.
After seeing Pokimane's clip about Kick, xQc reacted to her controversial statements. How did he react? Both streamers have a sizable following on various social media platforms, how did their fan bases react? Read on to learn more about this intriguing situation.
‘That's not how it works!’
xQc was shocked by Pokimane's remarks and disputed her characterization, stating that his experience with Kick was different from what she portrayed. He said, "Well, I'm confused. That's not how it works! Huh? Well, guys, I don't really have to f**king be on the defense here. Brother, Amazon isn't Twitch. When will people get this? There is a massive difference!"
xQc provided his perspective on why he disagreed with Pokimane's recent opinion regarding the utilization of Twitch's services by Kick. He claimed, "Okay, so I think you need something to understand, okay? You need to understand this straight point. Okay? Guys, I'm about to say some truth to you and you're going to be confused. But, if you think about it, I'm right and you're going to be, 'Oh, s**t! I get it.'"
xQc continued to suggest that Amazon appears to be incurring losses by offering video hosting services to Twitch, whereas it is generating profits by providing the same services to Kick. “Amazon has Amazon Web Services servers, right? Servers are really good for, like, video encoding. It's really good for video. Then, Amazon bought Twitch. So, Amazon sits at the top, right? And Kick uses Amazon Web Services to run their video servers. Right? So... in Amazon's view of the world, Amazon as a parent company, they're literally making money off of Kick and losing money on Twitch.”
He then emphasized that it is not advisable to make an argument suggesting that Twitch is a financially unsustainable platform compared to Kick.
"It is not a flex to say that Amazon is making money off of Kick. That is, like, the most counter-flex of all time. You're literally flexing that your site is a money-sink, compared to one that's making them money. What the f**k kind of argument is this? I mean, am I crazy? What the f**k!"
'Bro you can tell she's jealous'
After watching the video of xQc, fans started sharing their perspectives too. One fan wrote, "Bro you can tell she's jealous. "Honestly, I don't really care that much" Sure lil bro." Another wrote, "As someone who works at aws, poki's argument had me yelling." One user said, "You know someone cares A LOT when they end their rant with: "I don't really care that much." Another user said, "It makes no sense to think that Amazon could just turn off the services at any time lol. That would never happen. ALSO; twitch losing market share to kick and rumble is only a net negative for TWITCH. If it costs Amazon too much money to operate Twitch without seeing the returns they will just shut down Twitch, forcing Poki to choose between two competitors she probably hates a LOT. She’s malding so hard." The fifth user said, "Imagine thinking Twitch = Amazon. Lmao."
