‘XO, Kitty’: Disappointed viewers slam Netflix's 'fake K-drama' as they claim 'directing is kinda weird'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When a spin-off series for ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before’ was announced, everyone had mixed feelings about it. To anyone who was a fan of the movie franchise, the bar was set incredibly high for ‘XO, Kitty’, the spin-off series, which is now streaming on Netflix. ‘XO, Kitty’ is an overload of every high school cliche and trope that one can imagine and focuses on the titular character Kitty Song Covey.

Netflix had advertised ‘XO, Kitty’ as a K-drama, and while it was primarily set in Korea, had Korean actors and actresses, with of course, plenty of K-pop songs, it felt…American. Viewers have taken social media by storm as they get through the episodes of ‘XO, Kitty’ to talk about how they felt about the series.
