LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Good Morning America’ was struck with an unprecedented moment recently when their three major anchors, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan all went missing from the Friday, August 4, during the morning broadcast of the show. The show has seen absenteeism from Michael and Robin lately, but for all three hosts to abandon the program together is unheard of and completely unusual.
Fans who woke up to witness their stars deliver them the tidbits for the day were disappointed when they saw fill-in hosts Eva Pilgrim, Whit Johnson, and Rebecca Jarvis behind the studio desk. There was only one question on everyone’s minds - Where are the three hosts? The broadcast did go on but without any answers.
Why were all three hosts missing from ‘GMA’?
The trio of Robin, Michael, and George is unarguably one of the most successful groups of morning show hosts in ABC’s history, The collective appeal of the group has driven viewership over the years and when any of them is missing from the broadcast, a sense of gloom looms over the show. This time, it was extremely surprising to see all of them missing the show together. Michael has endured a long stint of absences lately, missing the show for nearly two weeks, while Robin usually takes a leave of absence on Fridays, leaving George to take charge.
When this time all of them went missing, fans scoured for answers but couldn’t find any. George, Michael, and Robin have not given much of a reason behind Friday's absence or their recent no-shows and their social media platforms do not give any impression of them being occupied by a prior commitment. Although Eva, Whit, and Rebecca filled in for the missing hosts, their absence was clearly felt by the viewers. The three fill-ins were behind the desk on Friday morning, touching on everything from former President Donald Trump's legal issues to the shocking claims against American rapper Lizzo.
Robin Roberts is soon to be married and Michael Strahan has a new obsession
Recently, Robin confirmed in one of her inspirational morning posts on Instagram that her wedding with long-time partner Amber Laign may come sooner than expected. Robin and Amber have been together since 2005, with Robin announcing earlier this year that the duo will get married in 2023. While Robin is planning to embark on a new chapter in her life, Michael revealed his inclination to become an F1 driver after attending the Hungarian Grand Prix recently. The former NFL star was so enchanted by the event that he even offered to substitute Lando Norris, the driver of McLaren in the race.
