LONDON, UK: US sprinter Noah Lyles broke one of Usain Bolt's significant records as he clocked a time of under 20 seconds at the London Diamond League on Sunday, July 23. Lyles completed the race in 19.47 seconds and became the first athlete to finish 35 sprints in less than 20 seconds, leaving Bolt behind.
The 36-year-old retired Jamaican legend ran 34 under-20-second sprints in his career. The Daily Mail reported that Lyles will now compete in the World Athletics Championships, which will be held at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Hungary, from August 19 to August 27. Meanwhile, the two-time World champion's latest performance left his fans in awe. “I can argue that Noah Lyles is the best 200m runner in US history over Micheal Johnson given his consistency. Just totally dominant,” one of them tweeted.
‘Absolutely spectacular!’
Another fan wrote, “Noah Lyles is a Fk’n SUPERSTAR!! Y’all can stay sleep if you want too! Always shows up!! #LondonDL #TeamUSA.” “RACE OF THE MEET. Noah Lyles goes 19.47 for a world lead + stays undefeated in the 200m before his title defense in Budapest ?? 20-year-old Letsile Tebogo goes 19.50 in second for an African record. ?? Zharnel Hughes gets the British record in 19.73 ??,” a third shared.
“Absolutely Spectacular!” someone else remarked while another added, “Noah Lyles said his 19.47 was only a warning shot ? We've seen him send some shots already this season ? Budapest is set to see something special in the men’s 200.”
A person shared, “Congratulations Noah, you all gave us a fantastic race. I've watched this race countless times already.” Another added, “Congrats on the win. That was some running yall did!! Super excited for world championships in Budapest!”
Who is Noah Lyles' girlfriend?
Lyles is said to be romantically involved with a woman named Trishelle Leacock. The two have reportedly been together for a few years now. However, it’s not known yet how they met each other. Leacock’s Instagram page describes her as a “University of Miami Alumna” and “Creator of @kaiso.swim x @kaisokarni.”
Though Lyles has not posted pictures with his girlfriend on social media, he tweeted in May, “The Girlfriend said no more shooting at the competition. All shots will now be in the air only.” The post received a lot of attention with a user saying, “Be wise; listen to her, she knows best?.”
Another noted, “Smart girl you have there bro. Listen to her lol.” A third tweeted, “She's right. You're the WC Champ and one of the best ambassador for the sport.” “Wise girlfriend,” someone added.
