SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: Bachelor Nation is about to have a new member. 'The Bachelor' host Jesse Palmer and his wife Emely Fardo, are expecting their first child, a girl, in early January.
The couple also revealed to People that their Aussiedoodle, Lou Lou, is "excited" about the impending addition to the family. "We think Lou Lou is excited about having a baby sister!" said the couple. "Every time we mention the words 'sister' or 'baby', Lou Lou perks up and becomes very focused and interested in what mommy and daddy are talking about."
On August 18, Jesse took to his Instagram stories to share an adorable photograph of their pooch wearing a pair of knit booties while sitting next to a toy rabbit and a sonogram. "Loulou is thrilled," was placed in text over the picture.
Bachelor host Jesse Palmer expecting first child with wife Emely Fardo
Jesse and his wife, Emely, are expecting their first child. In photographs obtained by People, the TV star, who is presently the host of the ABC dating reality programs 'The Bachelor' and 'The Bachelorette,' released sweet pregnancy photos on Instagram as he posed with the model on a gorgeous beach.
Emely wore a sleeveless tan maxi dress that flowed past her ankles, while the former NFL player wore a similar tan polo shirt and white trousers. Jesse, who earlier hosted the Emmy-winning show DailyMailTV, and his wife held her expanding baby belly while standing close together and smiling for the camera.
"We've been keeping a secret…our family is growing and our hearts are so full!" they said in the caption of the photo series, which was uploaded on both of their Instagram accounts. "This is a dream come true for us and we’re so thrilled to be welcoming our baby girl in January 2024," they said after revealing the gender of their kid.
The excited parents-to-be also spoke with the media about their great baby announcement. "I have two brothers and four nephews, so we are finally getting a female addition to the Palmer family!" Jesse said to People. "Emely has always wanted a daughter, and she is so maternal by nature, I’ve always known that she is going to be the best mom," he lovingly said.
Emely expressed her joy at becoming a mother, saying, "I'm so excited to share life with our daughter, take her on fun adventures and share with her the lessons this life has taught us."
The TV personality said that, while he is "nervous" about parenting a small girl after growing up in a family full of men, he is happy to be a father. "I know our daughter is going to walk all over me — she already has me wrapped around her finger! I’m a little nervous since I never grew up with girls in the house."
Emely reported four months into her pregnancy that she had been feeling "really good up to this point. I’m working out daily and my appetite has increased exponentially, which I’m not complaining about!"

Emely Fardo and Jesse Palmer tied the knot after a nearly year-long engagement
Jesse, who was cast as the bachelor on the dating show's fifth season in 2004, began dating Emely in 2017. They got engaged two years later on a surprise vacation to Paris. Emely and Jesse open out about their love on social media, but they kept their wedding a secret. In fact, fans were unaware they had married until they were photographed wearing wedding bands in the summer of 2021.
After having to abandon their initial plans to marry in Provence, France, the couple married on June 5, 2020, in a small and private ceremony at a close friend's house in Connecticut. "We were only able to invite a small group of close friends that live in the greater N.Y.C. area and that were in quarantine at the time," they said to PEOPLE. "We had a lovely afternoon and look forward to celebrating our love with our parents and immediate families all together soon!"
Despite the shortened ceremony, the newlyweds were overjoyed with their wedding. "Big or small, wedding party or not," they exclaimed, "we feel so grateful and lucky to have found each other!" Jesse celebrated the couple's anniversary with a romantic Instagram picture in June 2023. He captioned a photo of himself and Emely, "The love of my life 💕. #HappyAnniversary."
Emely announced in July 2022 that the pair married again at Château De La Gaude, a luxury hotel in Aix-en-Provence, France. She posted images of herself and Jesse in a garden, both looking stunning in their wedding gowns. "And so this happened… I got to marry the love of my life AGAIN but this time in front of our immediate family," she said in the caption of her Instagram image. "It was a dream come true and the most beautiful and emocional day of my life! I'll never forget it."
Emely reflected on the joyous occasion on Oct. 12, 2022, by posting black-and-white images of herself and Jesse at their wedding site on Instagram. Later that month, she shared another Instagram photo regarding her wedding, this time of herself putting on an earring and another of herself sliding on a pair of heels. "Details," she captioned the photo.
