CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES: Jennifer Grant was in for a surprise. In an interview with The Guardian, Jennifer Grant, the daughter of Cary Grant and actress Dyan Cannon, expressed her disbelief regarding the rumors surrounding her father's sexuality and his alleged relationships with men.
Jennifer Grant, 57, expressed her perspective on her father's rumored relationships with men, stating, "If you're around your parents a lot, you see them in ways that almost no one else does. And I never saw a hint of that." She further added, "I think I would have picked up on it — not that I would've cared."
A mother, writer, and more
Jennifer had initially faced opposition from her father when it came to pursuing a career in acting. After graduating from Stanford University in 1987 with a degree in history and political science, she explored other professional avenues, including working at a law firm and trying her hand at being a chef. However, in 1993, Jennifer made the decision to transition into acting and secured her first role on the popular TV series 'Beverly Hills, 90210' in 1990.
She married Randy Zisk on May 30, 1993, but they later divorced in 1996 and Jennifer Grant welcomed her son, Cary Benjamin Grant, into the world on August 12, 2008. Furthermore, Jennifer gave birth to her daughter, Davian Adele Grant, on November 23rd, 2011. The father of her children is her ex-boyfriend, Arthur Page IV.

She talked about a picture she received featuring her father alongside Gregory Peck and Mervyn LeRoy, describing them as good buddies, saying she "never got that hint" from the photo. Jennifer emphasized that she never saw any indications of her father's alleged relationships with men.

Concluding her thoughts, Jennifer stated, "Perhaps earlier in his life he had an affair [with a man]. I'll never know, but if he did, fantastic. I hope he enjoyed it." Jennifer Grant revealed that she faced criticism when she addressed the rumors surrounding her father's sexuality in her 2011 memoir, ‘Good Stuff: A Reminiscence of My Father, Cary Grant’.
She mentioned receiving hate mail that accused her of being anti-gay, a claim she vehemently denied. Speaking to The Guardian, Jennifer clarified, "I received hate mail saying that I was anti-gay, which couldn't be further from the truth".
‘Can't blame men for wanting him’
Cary Grant, the renowned movie star known for his roles in films like 'North By Northwest' and 'Notorious', passed away from a stroke in 1986 at the age of 82. Throughout his life, he was married five times to Virginia Cherrill, Barbara Hutton, Betsy Drake, Dyan Cannon, and Barbara Harris.
In her 2011 book, Jennifer Grant addressed the speculation surrounding her father's sexuality, writing, "Can't blame men for wanting him, and wouldn't be surprised if Dad even mildly flirted back. When the question arises, it generally speaks more about the person asking. ... Dad somewhat enjoyed being called gay. He said it made women want to prove the assertion wrong."
