LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Season 5 of 'Too Hot to Handle' will premiere on Netflix with a fresh crop of beautiful singletons. The competitors on the show are not permitted to participate in any form of sexual behavior, but don't worry, we have those bothersome restrictions addressed for you.
The fifth season of Netflix's reality dating series 'Too Hot to Handle' sees a group of singletons attempt—and typically fail—to live together for four weeks without any sexual activity. 'Too Hot to Handle' is arguably the only dating program that discourages overly flirtatious encounters, since any sexual contact (including kissing!) might result in thousands of dollars being withheld from the $100,000 prize purse. The dating show's notion is obviously out there, as is putting a monetary value on kissing. But, as the cast of 'Too Hot to Handle' season five arrives at the brand-new luxury villa for a summer of (no-contact) love, all those annoying regulations are addressed.
What does 'no heavy petting' mean on 'Too Hot to Handle'?
Manual intercourse, oral sex, and "inappropriate" touching are all examples of heavy petting. The cost of each action varies. The third base costs $4,000, and oral sex costs $6,000. Lana determines the cost of improper contact, which may vary from $5,000 to $13,000.
The competitors are not permitted to kiss one another while taking part in the reality program. If Lana sees any of the couples kissing, they will be fined $3,000 for each occurrence. For Lana, the most important guideline that the contenders must obey is 'no sex'. Anyone who violates this regulation faces a $20,000 fine. Yes, even self-pleasure is forbidden at Lana's retreat, but the single act only deducts $2,000 from the grand prize.
Are there any loopholes in the 'Too Hot to Handle' rules?
Contestants must still share a bed at night, so snuggling is permissible as long as no other amusing behavior occurs. Showering together was also tolerated last season. Contestants on 'Too Hot to Handle' were given a unique watch that would light up green if Lana believed a pair had created a real connection. The two would then be granted complete freedom to breach the regulations but would be forced to stop when the watch returned to neutral.
In season one, there was also a possibility to earn money; serial rule violators Harry Jowsey and Francesca Farago were able to recoup their $26,000 loss by spending a night together in the private villa without touching. It remains to be seen whether season five will offer a comparable opportunity to rebuild the prize pool—or even if there will be any money left in it, which is unlikely based on the 'Too Hot to Handle' season five teaser.
'Too Hot to Handle' will be back with Season 5 on Netflix on Friday, July 14th.
