FLORIDA: Kim Plath, star of 'Welcome to Plathville,' has moved into her new partner Ken Palmer's $609,000 Florida mansion, according to The US Sun.
Kim and her ex-boyfriend Barry announced their divorce in June 2022, and by May 2023, she had moved on with Ken, leaving the $663,000 Georgia farm to share a $609,000 property in Florida.
Ken purchased the four-bedroom, four-bathroom log cabin-style property in 2017, according to records acquired exclusively by The US Sun.
Kim's house is listed as her primary location on records, although her name is not on the deed.
The new house of the 'Welcome to Plathville' star is 3,485 square feet and situated on five acres of property.
Kim and Ken have an in-ground pool, a two-stall barn, and a little lounge terrace in their rear.
The majority of the house is built of wood, and it is entirely on one level. Kim most likely moved in surreptitiously between the time her divorce was publicized in June 2022 and this winter.
Why did 'Welcome to Plathville's Kim leave Barry Plath?
Fans of the program will recognize that the 'Welcome to Plathville' family is matriarchal. Kim's dominating and domineering behavior got troublesome over time.
Although Barry did not pick her out or call her out on her behavior, Ethan Plath did in one of the episodes.
During a debate, Ethan addressed Kim directly, claiming that she is very domineering. He has also voiced his disappointment with Barry's lack of communication.
This and other factors most likely influenced the couple's decision to divorce after 24 years of marriage.
Kim and Barry Plath divorced after much deliberation and conversation.
Was 'Welcome to Plathville's Barry Plath married before Kim?
A legal document that appeared to show that Barry had a prior marriage was posted on Instagram by blogger Katie Joy of Without a Crystal Ball.
She included a lengthy commentary that provides further details about the unnamed marriage and the reality star's history.
The post begins, "Barry Plath is no stranger to divorce," and goes on to say that Barry wed Laurie Mack in 1990.
Katie said, "By 1991, the couple moved to Tallahassee, Florida," and by 1994, Barry and his first wife had filed for divorce, "citing irreconcilable differences as the reason."
The caption stated that "the couple had no children and their divorce settlement had Barry responsible for paying off one of Laurie’s student loans," noting that Barry married Kim, his second wife, in 1997.
The caption stated, "The marriage was Kim's first," and added that Barry's first wife now lives in Minnesota, where he grew up, and that she has since remarried.
Katie added, "Barry had NEVER mentioned his previous marriage." She insisted that Barry wasn't raised as a fundamentalist and that he didn't start attending church until he went to Florida with Laurie.
Laurie and Kim both attended Florida State University, according to the Daily Soap Dish.
