NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Today’ Show host Jenna Bush Hager was recently disgusted by co-host Hoda Kotb’s weird bedroom snacking habit as she brutally disagrees with her on live TV.
On Tuesday, August 22 ‘Today’ Show broadcast, Hager and Kotb weighed in on the new trend of having a snack drawer under the bed.
However, the first former daughter was horrified after learning about her co-host's controversial bedroom habit and she begged her to quit.
Kotb candidly shared one of her comforting habits during a conversation, indulging in a sleeve of Ritz crackers while in bed, describing “it’s cozy.”
However, the look of mild disgust on Hager's face suggested that she does not share the same enthusiasm for this bedtime snack.
Jenna Bush Hager disagrees with Hoda Kotb
During a recent ‘Today with Hoda and Jenna’ segment, Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb discussed the viral trend of having a snack drawer under the bed after a woman’s TikTok video went viral addressing her process of restocking a container.
Kotb said, “A lot of people like to snack in bed. I feel you, and I'm with you. I think it's a good idea.” However, Hager had something else in mind as she said, “disagree.”
Kotb, 49, insisted that she loves to have “a sleeve of Ritz crackers” in her bed in her New York City apartment.
Hager’s face turned into disgust as she asked, “Can you imagine what a sleeve, first of all, Ritz crackers does to your sheet?” She continued, “Hoda, you gotta give up eating in bed.”
"Why?" Kotb asked with a puzzled expression on her face.
Kotb defended her unusual habit, claiming that eating in “it’s cozy.” However, her co-host, Hager, was quick to point out the practical downsides, particularly the crumbs getting into the sheets.
With a mischievous grin, Kotb decided to offer a solution. She demonstrated using her hand to brush the crumbs off the bed and onto her bedroom floor, “Here, let me show you what you do.”
"So that it's all over the ground in your New York City apartment where little mice like to come and eat a Ritz cracker," Hager quipped, clearly unimpressed with the idea.
Ironically, when Hager playfully suggested getting Kotb a snack drawer under her bed as a Christmas gift, she was met with resistance.
"I actually don't like bugs, so if there's a slight risk of bugs, I wouldn't do it," Kotb explained with a chuckle.
Amused by the contradiction, Hager couldn't resist a playful jab, saying, "Okay, so because you don't like bugs, I would keep the Ritz out of your bed. There's still crumbs.”
Hoda Kotb’s love for Ritz crackers
Hoda Kotb's affection for Ritz crackers is not a recent revelation. In a discussion last month, she and her ‘Today’ Show co-hosts shared their favorite "girl dinners" to enjoy at home, and Kotb didn't hold back in expressing her love for the simple snack.
“Mine's super simple. It involves 15 seconds in the microwave," she shared, with a knowing smile, acknowledging that it's not exactly a culinary masterpiece.
Kotb went on to describe her delightful creation, she sprinkles cheese on top of the Ritz crackers and microwaves them, transforming them into what she affectionately calls a "melted Ritz," which she insists is even better than the standard cracker.
For a sweeter option, she enjoys spreading peanut butter and jelly on the crackers.
