LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Melissa Gilbert is a proud grandmother of a little girl and she often uses social media to flaunt her new title with her granddaughter. The actress recently turned 59 and to express her gratitude to her fans for all the warm wishes, she posted a very sweet photo on her Instagram.
The former president of the Screen Actors Guild entered her 60th year on May 8 and posted a picture with her grandchild, Ripley Lou Brinkman. She wrote, “This is 59. This is heaven. Thank you all for the wonderful heartfelt birthday wishes. This Nana sends you oceans of love. Xoxo.” The post attracted several comments from fans.

Ripley is the ‘Little House on the Prairie’ star’s elder son Dakota’s daughter. The baby was born in June 2021. At the time, Gilbert posted multiple pictures with a lengthy caption that read, “So so happy to tell you all that @timbusfield and I are Nana and Papa to this sweet angel. Ripley Lou Brinkman arrived last night at 6:18 pm central time. She weighs 7lbs 7oz and is 19.5 inches long.”
She added, “Everyone is healthy and doing well. So proud of my son Dakota and his wife @martobes. She was a warrior through the whole process, and he was the perfect partner for her. Next up, traveling to Texas to meet our new granddaughter.”
