LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘The View’ has a lot of exciting elements to it, whether we’re talking about the co-hosts or the hot topics or the guest appearances. However, more often than not, everything boils down to politics and these co-hosts don’t shy away from it. Some of the more vocal co-hosts when it comes to ‘The View’ are Alyssa Farah Griffin, Ana Navarro, and Sunny Hostin. Griffin especially doesn’t shy away from being a Republican, both on and off the set.
Griffin spent some time answering burning questions from the fans, and of course, they had a lot to ask about politics. However, even when the fans aren’t asking about politics, Griffin manages to weasel it into the conversation and it seems the viewers of ‘The View’ aren’t too pleased about it.
‘A cool moment for me’
As the burning question segment progressed, one question that Griffin was asked was, “What is your proudest moment on ‘The View’ so far?” Griffin had to give this one a little thought, unlike the others as she answers, “I don’t know if it’s necessarily things that I am proud of…like my performance, but more getting to be a part of. So I’m really excited as we have had more Republican candidates on the show, or just Republican leaders.” She then lists a few of the Republican guests who appeared on ‘The View’ and said it was “a cool moment for me” and that its “fun and exciting.”
‘A Republican surrogate’
While Griffin showers her love for Republicans, viewers just don’t seem convinced. Fans of ‘The View’ haven’t taken Griffin’s Republican talking points in the most positive stride as one writes, “She is a Republican surrogate whose role is to minimize the fascist movement of the Republican Party. Surrogates like her influence low information voters - it’s gaslighting, no fascist movement without it.” Another viewer is convinced that Griffin isn’t even a Republican as they tweet, “I'd love to know why you pretend to be a Republican.” Another one posted, “I’m 73 & remember decent Republicans who actually did their jobs. I don’t see this anymore. Seems they just want to sling mud & point fingers. It’s exhausting & disgusting watching this take place.”
The ones who are convinced of Griffin’s loyalty towards the Republican party, aren’t too thrilled. One user tweets, “Alyssa, please look at your party's lack of a platform about climate and its platform of anti-choice and indifference to the real needs of people who are struggling. So why stay with a party like that?” Some viewers have expressed their disdain towards the guest appearances as one writes, “You stated that there are Republicans who have a platform & want to make things better for all. Then why aren’t we hearing from them? All we hear is the loudmouth, rabble-rousers who cause chaos & havoc. We are sick of them.”
