LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The View' co-host Sara Haines recently expressed skepticism regarding the alleged relationship between Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce.
During an episode of 'The View: Behind the Table' podcast hosted by executive producer Brian Teta, Haines chalked out her reasons for not being enthusiastic about the pairing.
Sara Haines disagrees with co-hosts over discussing Taylor Swift's love Life
Sara Haines mentioned that she and her 'The View' colleagues were in a disagreement about which current news topics to cover on the show, especially when it came to discussing Taylor Swift.
She was particularly upset with Brian Teta because he insisted that the co-hosts should discuss Swift's love life, specifically her recent appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs game to support Travis Kelce.
On the podcast, Haines explained her perspective, saying, "I can usually find something, but I’ll let you know when I don’t care. This is a PR stunt, this whole thing, and I’m just not that interested in it because it feels like you’re giving air to a publicity stunt."
She further emphasized, "She does not need more expensive concert tickets that are hard to get. Like, she’s good. We’re good."
Teta countered Haines' stance, noting that her opinion would have been valuable for television viewers to hear.
Sara Haines defends her position on Taylor Swift and public interest
Sara Haines firmly stood by her point, asserting that Taylor Swift's passionate fanbase, known as the Swifties, can be just as fervent as Beyonce's Beyhive, and they tend to react strongly to any criticism.
She clarified that her lack of interest in discussing Swift's love life doesn't make her a bad person and mentioned that other co-hosts like Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, and Sunny Hostin shared her sentiment.
Nonetheless, panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin was more than willing to engage in a conversation about Swift and Kelce on air.
Executive producer Teta stated, "Moral of the story is everyone doesn’t always agree, and I made the decision not to do the topic because several of you felt this way, but I felt there’s a public interest," adding, "You have an opinion, it might not be an opinion that people agree with, it might not be the most positive opinion in the world, but that’s OK, you do you."
Netizens troll Sara Haines after she calls Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's romance a PR stunt
The Internet wasn't having it as they soon resorted to mocking Sara Haines over her calling Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's supposed romance a "PR stunt."
A user wrote "Lol I think Sara Haines has tricked herself into thinking she works at 60 Minutes. The View does publicity stunts all the time. Even though I don't think this Swift/Kelce thing is one."
"Well taylor doesn’t need publicity with a sold out world tour, movie, and another album," commented another.
"@sarahaineswow I detect a little hostility and jealousy over the Swift Kelce events. First off it is none of your business and second your $**tbox comments show how intelligent you are. Glad you are in a program that will get removed. All trash gets thrown out," expressed a clearly furious person.
