LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: The indictment of Duane "Keefe D" Davis, 60, in the murder of Tupac Shakur has left Suge Knight, 58, surprised. An eyewitness in the 1996 Vegas Killing, Knight stated that he would refuse if called to testify against the suspect.

The Death Row Records founder insisted cops and prosecutors are barking up the wrong tree with their arrest of Davis, reported TMZ. He further refutes the long-held belief that Davis' late nephew, Orlando Anderson, was the shooter.

When was Tupac Shakur killed?

On the night of September 7, 1996, Suge was with Tupac in a black BMW vehicle in Las Vegas. While they were waiting at a red light near the Las Vegas Strip, a white Cadillac pulled up next to them and gunfire erupted.

Tupac suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died a week later at the age of 25.

Suge is currently serving a 28-year jail sentence for a hit-and-run case in 2015.

Over a telephonic interview from a state prison in California, Suge told TMZ that he would never say a bad word about Davis, regardless of what the latter had confessed to in interviews, or to police.

He also clarified that prosecutors can forget about getting him on the stand during Davis' murder trial.

Between the black BMW and the white Cadillac, there were 6 people involved in the fatal incident twenty-eight years ago, and 4 of them were in the shooter's car.

Suge Knight and Duane Davis are the only 2 involved in the incident who are still alive

Davis was arrested on September 29 in Las Vegas after a grand jury indicted him, but the whole bust was a huge surprise to Suge.

According to the investigators, Keefe D was in on Tupac's murder and supplied the gun used in the fatal shooting. The incident went down shortly after Tupac's crew had beaten up Davis' nephew, Orlando, inside the MGM Grand following a Mike Tyson fight.

While stating clearly that he would never reveal who opened fire on Tupac and him that night, he said that he knew it was not Orlando, and insinuated that Davis does not belong behind bars either.

Davis has been outspoken for years about his alleged involvement in Tupac's murder. He even wrote a book on the subject, which cops say played a big part in catalyzing the investigation.

Internet reacts to Suge Knight's stand

The internet does not share Suge's view on the case and is calling for his arrest and a conviction in the Tupac case.

A user tweeted, "Suge knight not testify against keefe d and says 2pac shooter isn't who cops think it is. really so he should tell us who he’s then."

"So he just admitted to knowing who the actual shooter is? Arrest suge, man. Homie done nothing good for the people," wrote another.

"The man's refusal to testify could be seen as an attempt to protect himself or someone else, or it could be a sign of guilt," someone else tweeted.

"I'd say arrest Suge Knight. He knows exactly who did it," another shared.

"More arrests should be made starting with Suge himself," someone else urged.
