How did Kendall Roy's story end?

Kendall began the episode by taking a look at who is supporting and getting the news that Roman is now at their mother’s house. He heads out to his mother’s house to convince Roman that he should support him. It turns out Shiv has already reached and they have a massive argument about the entire situation. While having dinner with their mother, Caroline asked them to go into business with her husband Peter. Kendall got furious after hearing that walked away from the dinner table. He received a call from Greg who revealed Mattson’s plan to abandon Shiv.

Kendall tells the entire thing to Shiv and the trio forgot about their differences and came together to teach Mattson a lesson. But they realized that they needed a CEO to lead the company. They all had a conversation and in the end, Kendall was able to convince his siblings that he would be the best person to lead the company. They had a fun night where they forgot about all the worries.

The trio returned back to New York and gathered support before reaching Logan’s apartment. They shared an emotional moment with each other and begin a new chapter. When they reach the office, Roman and Shiv support Kendall and tell everyone that he (Kendall) should leave the company. However, Roman starts freaking out after seeing Gerri, and Kendall had to comfort him to ease things.

But things went downhill for Kendall when Shiv realized that he might not be the best choice to be the next CEO. Kendall begs Shiv to make him CEO. Shiv plays mind games with Kendall and tells him that he knows about his driver’s death. Kendall denies everything and admitted that he made the entire story up.

After this, Shiv and Roman tell Kendall that they won’t support him now. Roman extends his support to Shiv, which leads to an actual fight between the three siblings. The GoJo deal finally goes through, prompting Kendall to leave the office and walk to the river. He sits down and looks at the horizon, feeling dejected.

What Happened to Shiv Roy?

In the finale of 'Succession; Season 4, Shiv strategizes with the GoJo team on which board members will support and vote against an acquisition. She also advocates for her husband Tom's survival at ATN but faces skepticism from Matsson, who believes Shiv is pulling Tom's strings. Shiv travels to her mother’s house to talk to Roman and persuade him to join her cause. However, Kendall also reaches there and they end up arguing with each other.

Shiv gets to know about Mattson’s plan and as a result, she extends her support to Kendall and reunites with her brothers to kill the Mattson deal. A few moments later, it is decided that Kendall should be the next CEO. However, Shiv walked out of voting and had a meeting with her brothers. Shiv believes Kendall is not the right choice to lead the company and lets him know that she knows about his driver’s death at her wedding. In the end, Shiv withdraws her support and makes it clear that she wants to move ahead with the deal.

The acquisition finally takes place and Shiv feels emotionally distant from everyone, including Tom.

What Happened to Roman Roy?

In the beginning, it was tough to say if Roman was even going to be a part of the voting. However, things changed soon when all three siblings had dinner together with their mother. Roman was accused of having pushed Shiv away once Logan died.

After the entire conversation, Roman extended his support to Kendall and everyone decided that Kendall will be the new CEO. But things changed when they reached the Waystar Royco office. Shiv walked out of the voting and said that Kendall was not fit to lead the company. Roman lost his mind when Kendall admitted that he lied about his driver’s death at Shiv’s wedding. All three siblings get into a fight after Roman mocks Kendall’s “adopted” children.

Roman doesn’t want to do anything with the deal or the company and makes it clear that none of them are fit enough to run the company. However, he is forced to sign the deal and the company is acquired by Mattson.

Roman’s story ends with having a drink at the bar and smiling.

Who was crowned the new CEO?

Well, Tom Wambsgans is the new CEO of Waystar Royco and this happens after a conversation between him and Mattson. While having dinner with Tom, Mattson admitted that he was having doubts about Shiv being the next CEO of the company and didn’t hold back in sharing that he was sexually interested in her. Mattson offered Tom to lead the company.

Tom tells Shiv about the conversation he had with Mattson, prompting Shiv to react furiously.

In the end, the Roy siblings lose the vote and Tom becomes the new CEO of Waystar Royco.

'Succession' ended with all three Roy siblings emotionally distant from each other and losing almost everything.
