NEW YORK, NEW YORK CITY: Jonathan Majors appeared at Manhattan Criminal Court in New York City on Tuesday, June 20 for a hearing. His girlfriend Meagan Good was also spotted beside him showing full support to her partner as he awaits trial. The duo were holding hands as they entered the premises with their attorney Priya Chaudhry in the morning. The last hearing was attended by the ‘Creed III’ actor virtually, and one of the motions filed previously was also withdrawn on Tuesday.
Following the move, Judge Rachel S Pauley scheduled August 3, the date for trial in Majors' case. The 33-year-old was arrested on March 25 and later arraigned over multiple misdemeanor assault and harassment charges. The actor only wished the judge ‘Good Morning’ and the rest was taken care of by his attorney. "Within a few weeks of these false allegations, we provided the District Attorney with evidence of Mr Majors' innocence. Last week, we delivered additional compelling evidence to the District Attorney. Following this, we strongly requested the District Attorney dismissed all charges against Mr Majors immediately... While we are hopeful that the District Attorney is reviewing these materials in good faith and will do the right thing soon, to accelerate our case, we've requested a trial date ASAP," attorney Priya Chaudhry said in a statement on Tuesday.
'Their relationship has developed further from that point'
Majors was previously friends with Good, but it turned into a romantic relationship after the star supported him amid assault charges and allegations. "Meagan has shown considerable support towards him. It seems their relationship has developed further from that point," a source claimed.
Majors’ attorney previously said during May 9 hearing, that, "Instead of dismissing the allegations in the face of the woman's clear lies, the DA has adjusted the charges to match the woman's new lies." She further said that her team "obtained even more video evidence of his innocence, but we are hesitant to share it, for fear the DA will tip the woman off to change her story again."
'Victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck'
As per a statement from the NYPD, "On Saturday, March 25, 2023, at approximately 1114 hours, police responded to a 911 call inside of an apartment located in the vicinity of West 22nd Street and 8th Avenue, within the confines of the 10 Precinct." A preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old male was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old female. The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition," according to People.
