MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Jonathan Major, who is best recognized for playing the renowned supervillain Kang the Conqueror, is currently embroiled in a spiraling controversy because of an alleged instance of domestic violence with his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. The Marvel star has countersued her ex-partner as well, although his history of abusive behavior is being scrutinized. In her complaint, Jabbari says the actor assaulted her during a taxi ride in New York.
The latest bombshell allegations have even startled the fans, and the news is flying around like wildfire. Considering that the business titans are keeping quiet about his situation, the future of 'The Last Black Man in San Francisco' star may now be in jeopardy. Meanwhile, it was reported that more alleged victims have come forward.
Why is Marvel silent on Jonathan Majors' future?
The actor has been the subject of abuse allegations for some time now, but Disney and Marvel have been firmly silent. Nevertheless, the studio's actions to hide the actor's presence in 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' speak volumes. The actor's role Kang the Conqueror and his name were not mentioned in the official Disney Plus synopsis for 'Quantumania', and he was also left out of the digital and VOD marketing campaign. In addition, the streaming special that was supposed to premiere last month was postponed as well, presumably for reasons related to the allegations against the actor.
After an explosive recent report from Rolling Stone claimed to uncover Majors' abusive history, the outlet disclosed that it contacted Marvel for comment on the subject. However, Marvel did not respond, which is hardly surprising given the parties' steadfast unwillingness to date to provide even the most basic response to the roiling crisis.
Although Major's role as Kang the Conqueror is currently on hold, it seems less likely that he will return as the main antagonist of the Multiverse Saga, given the damning claims and speculations.
