As Mal goes out on a date with other women in the show, she is seen asking some questions that made viewers wonder whether the star is insecure about her race. While going out on a date with one of the cast members, she asks, "Have you ever dated anybody that looks like me? Like a Black person?" Even though this does not mean anything, it surely hints that Mal gives a thought about her color whenever she strikes a connection with a White person.
