AUSTIN, TEXAS: Custom sneakers are gaining popularity among sneakerheads, with athletes and celebrities wearing distinctive patterns to show family affection. Recently, Joe Rogan received custom Puma sneakers from Marko, a fashion personality, specializing in customization and DIY art. The podcaster was elated.
Marko is a well-known TikTok star, YouTuber, social media influencer, and professional artist. He has amassed a sizable fan base as a result of his DIY- and customization-related content, which includes custom-painted phones, shoes, purses, cars, and a variety of other accessories.
Marko gifted sneakers to Joe Rogan
YouTuber Marko gifted Joe Rogan a pair of specially made sneakers before UFC 292 that were inspired by some of his interests, including tattoos, life advice, and of course, hunting. The custom Puma shoes for Rogan, in which the 'JRE' Podcast logo acted as a substitute for the iconic Puma, took Marko nine days to complete it.
When Rogan first saw them, he said, “Dude! These are so cool. That is so cool.” As Marko explained the intricacies of the shoes he designed, Rogan exclaimed, “Dude, I’m going to wear these at the UFC weigh-ins today. I’m pumped, thank you very much. Thank you.”
Rogan has discussed The Book of 5 Rings and Miyamoto Musashi on multiple podcasts, and the artists' artwork was featured in the design's main body. Marko also included Rogan's tattoos of an Egyptian Pharaoh on the tongue and added real archery targets to the heel of the shoe.
Owing to Joe Rogan's interests, any shoes custom-made for him wouldn't be complete without some mysterious elements like extraterrestrial life and pyramids. The insole of the shoe consists of these designs as explained by Marko.
The 'JRE' host even kept his word and wore them to the UFC 292 weigh-ins. Hopefully, he'll do a detailed look at some point in a future episode.
Meaning behind Joe Rogan's tattoo
The exact number of Joe Rogan's tattoos is still unknown. Two of his tattoos have been individually described, but he may have further "hidden" ink that hasn't been exposed or discussed. But it is likely that he just has two at the moment.
Joe Rogan has a stunning tattoo of famed samurai Miyamoto Musashi on his right arm. At the age of 16, he read a book by Musashi himself, titled 'The Book of Five Rings', which served as the source of inspiration for this tattoo.
Rogan explained the significance of his tattoo on a 'JRE' episode #1900, saying, "My right arm, I have a tattoo of Miyamoto Musashi because I read a quote when I was 16 years old when I was doing martial arts..."
He added, "I read The Book of Five Rings. He wrote this book, which is a book on strategy. Miyamoto Musashi was a samurai who killed 62 men in one-on-one combat and he wrote this book about it."
Joe Rogan's second tattoo occupies the entirety of Rogan's left arm and is a large, profound tattoo. A holy figure with a clear third eye in the middle of its forehead is inked at the top of the tattoo. A snake surrounds the image of the of the diety.
Many have suggested that this tattoo is remarkably similar to the Hindu deity Lord Shiva. But the tattoo's symbolism goes further than that. Rogan's intriguing and spiritually-inspired tattoo has a chemical structure nestled in the center of the holy image, which adds still another level of mystery and significance.
