LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Not many people have been quite happy with the changes social media platform Twitter has undergone ever since Elon Musk took over. Interestingly, Musk introduced another major change to the app on Monday, July 24. Musk officially changed the company's famous bird logo to an 'X' as part of a sweeping rebrand he announced on the social media site over the weekend.
'Jeopardy!' champion James Holzhauer joined the long list of people who have disapproved of this complete brand change of the application. Many fans came forward to respond to Holzhauer's tweet and even suggested that the trivia gambler buy the social media giant.
James Holzhauer takes a jab at Elon Musk
As probably one of the biggest winners from trivia game shows ever, Holzhauer took to Twitter to comment on the conversion of the bluebird app to X. His tweet read, "I wish I could afford to spend $44 billion on something to strip it for parts." Holzhauer seemingly took a jab at Musk for his massive $44 billion purchase. He is not alone in doing this, as many people have pledged to continue calling the app Twitter despite the official change because they were not prepared for the abrupt shift in the iconic app's appearance.
Holzhauer keeps up with meme trends that circulate on social media platforms in addition to trivia questions on 'Jeopardy!'. His Twitter account, which has more than 260K followers, is full of current-humor memes, and his tweets frequently go viral on the platform, receiving tens of thousands of likes and conversations.
'Save the bird!'
Holzhauer's followers were quick to react to his words and many went along with his humor to in turn make fun of him as well. "Save the bird!" a fan wrote under his tweet. "Keep winning Masters…maybe you’ll get there in 88 thousand years," another one joked about his time on the game show 'Jeopardy!'. A fan also decided to playfully shade Holzhauer with the reply, "If only Emma never applied for Jeopardy, you probably would have that $44 billion," referring to the contestant Emma Boettcher who dethroned him after his 32-day streak on 'Jeopardy!'.
Some others also sided with him in slamming Musk for his rapid decision-making in the past few months relating to app policies like the paywall of Twitter Blue and the restrictions on tweet visibility. A user responded with, "What are the parts? I feel like the whole thing is going to the junkyard." Another one wrote, "To me, it’s like a David Copperfield trick—watch me make this giant thing (I overpaid a boatload of money for) disappear." A fan also joked saying, "If he wants to throw away billions I have a PayPal account that's more than ready to accept it!"
