CLEVELAND, OHIO: YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has more Irish ancestry in his lineage than Polish, according to recent claims by his mother, Pamela Anne Stepnick.
In a widely circulated YouTube video, Jake Paul and his mother engaged in a discussion about his ancestry. She refuted Jake Paul's claims in this regard.
For those who may not be aware, during the world heavyweight title fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois in Wroclaw over the weekend, Jake Paul referred to himself as "20 percent Polish."
Jake Paul’s mother sheds light on his ancestry
In a recent YouTube video that showcased Jake Paul, his mother Pam, and their family and friends, Pam unequivocally dismissed Jake Paul's assertion of being Polish. Instead, she stated that their family's roots can be traced back to Ireland.
Further, Pam Stepnick stated that Jake is predominantly of Irish descent. Both Pam and Jake's father, Greg Paul, have significant Irish ancestry in their family heritage, with only a small Polish connection in Greg's lineage.
Promptly, Jake Paul questioned his mother, “Mom what are my main nationalities, I need to tell the people, what am I made up of?"
In response, Pam Stepnick said, "A lot of Irish in him, You're a very large per cent Irish." She continued, "I'm 71 percent Irish, and if you cut that in half then your dad has Irish in him so you have to add that, I don't know his percentage."
Jake Paul humorously mentioned that he is just 35 percent Irish, which he playfully suggested left him with 70 percent to be Polish.
From the conversation, it became apparent that Paul has influences from both Irish and Polish heritage. However, according to Paul's mother's statements, his Irish roots hold more significance.
What does Jake Paul’s mom do?
Jake Paul's mother, Pamela Anne Stepnick, is employed as a nurse and has worked in numerous healthcare facilities. It's worth mentioning that she divorced Greg Paul, who is Jake's father.
Greg is a commercial roofer and a licensed realtor. Additionally, Greg owns a YouTube channel under his own name.
When Greg and Stepnick separated, Jake and Logan Paul were still children. This was discussed in an interview on the 'Impaulsive' podcast, which is hosted by Logan.
Greg said, “We didn’t have the teaching tools to make it through marriage. But, the fallacy is, we believe, ‘Oh! We love each other. Love will pull us through’ That’s a f***ed up bullsh*t lie.”
It's important to note that Greg and Stepnick are currently on good terms and have even appeared together in a few videos alongside their sons.
